Gold or Silver in Dining Room

I am trying to find a large mirror to place above our sideboard in our dining room and tend to be drawn more towards gold mirrors. However, I’m worried that the silver and grey tones in our dining room chairs would clash with the gold. Any thoughts on what would work best here? The below mirror from RH is the one I have my eye on and it comes in either silver or gold.

Mine is totally gold :) This was before the remodel started, and shows the wall color as it should be with paint and glaze. THis shows it in mid construction (I had the floors darkened to walnut, added crown molding, and am adding a chandelier with amber glass to compliment a venetian glass collection) The walls here are missing their buff glaze: Close up of the walls:

Awwww! best friend! Thanks for checking in. We had a small set back. They had to redo the ceiling in the kitchen and back foyer, so we couldn't start painting on Thursday as planned. However, the ceiling is finished, it's perfect and we are scheduled to paint on Monday! Woo-hoo! I am having some serious worries though. I think I just need to suck it up and do it. If I don't love it after all of the furniture is in...well, I can repaint!

the finishes are fine[if that's what you like]. However I think the dimension and shape of the hardware in the kitchen ,[ in this picture ] are not great with your specifics. Keep the gold hardware, if you desire.....but at least reduce the pull size: generally seek a softer/different scale/shape. These are too modern, and others are probably available. there are more warmer finishes to choose from, which means more configurations.

Susan, yes they are too tall. They should ideally be no taller than than about one inch-maybe 2 inches-higher than the sofa arms. Yours are 6 or 8 inches taller than the sofa arms. Possibly look into having the legs shortened?

Yes, definitely big enough. It comes in different sizes so would probably go with the 42x78.

Pretty space. I always like the idea of silver metallics in the mix in a dining space since, nine times out of ten, your flatware is also silver. Just one other layer to tie in when you've got it all working together. Nice work bringing in a warm tone with the drapery, though - think a silver mirror in here would work great with what you've selected so far. Cheers!

I don't think gold is a bad choice for your dining room however the gold on that RH mirror is REALLY gold. There are golds out there that are "softer." I know you love that mirror but perhaps finding one in a softer gold would make this choice more of a no brainer. I also think something in a more unexpected style might be nice. For instance Three of any of these over the long Buffet/console
