Comments (15)Georgette, is that the house your husband grew up in? I live in an old farm house that my husband grew up in and it has been fun making changes. That door of yours is great and would look really good repainted. I hear that people have painted their formica counter tops, you could try that with your sink and backsplash area. Can you re-plumb and re-wire into that closet area and use it as a laundry alcove? Removing the sliding doors for good. I think it would look nicer than having the set in front of the windows. Is that closet at a load bearing wall. Because laundry sets should be set up against a load bearing wall, unless they are sitting on concrete. Thats because the sit where the floor is strongest and most resistant to vibration. So, the closet might not work in your case, unless it is a load bearing wall too. Though it kind of looks like a plan stud wall. The wall your set is at now is load bearing because it is an exterior wall and they have to be load bearing....See Moreci_lantro
