Kohler demilav wading pool sink/Quiessence faucet
Comments (10)Ashlander, beautiful photos, thank you! Very timely thread as I am considering the Kohler demilav for my powder room. A few questions for the experts as I finalize my decisions: Do you experience splashing because of the low profile? I was considering a bamboo countertop because my powder room is not used that often, and the Kohler page shows the demilav on a wooden counter. I thought the look would be cool - but not if the demilav splashes so much that my wood warps. Demilav dimensions are 18x15 and my countertop depth right now is 17". I have four options here: 1. Use a wall-mount faucet (but then I can't use the Purist faucet, so beautiful!) 2. Extend the countertop 2-3" to put in a counter-mount faucet like the Purist. Extending the countertop is doable, but my powder room is already teeny and that would reduce space between toilet front and countertop from 19" to 16". 3. Get creative and put the faucet off to the side, instead of at the back of the sink. 4. Abandon dreams of a Kohler demilav in my powder room :-( If I could figure out how to post photos, I could illustrate the options better. Fabulous thread. I can't believe I found this thread at the exact time that I'm looking at these sinks. Thanks in advance. ~Lynn...See MoreDelta Allora vs. Grohe Ladylux Plus vs. Kohler Simplice
Comments (29)Regarding the hot/cold on the delta allora, I am right handed and like my control mounted on the right because that's the hand I reach with to turn it on. It's not really hard to get used to the front to back for hot and cold, there are also teeny little blue and red indicators to remind you which is which. If I can get DH to get under the sink to unscrew the mount, I would like to position that handle just a bit forward (it can spin in any direction) so when on full hot, it isn't so close to my windowsill. That's my only complaint and it was an install issue. I have heard many people complain over splashing on all the gooseneck faucets, not just the delta but it is a really easy fix....I got used to using less pressure (bonus is it saves water) pretty quickly. It doesn't splash at all in stream, only spray and then, only when turned up. I really only use my spray for sink cleaning and I always have the hose extended and the head sweeping around the sides...no spray even on high. My old side spray used to splash if it were turned up and held up high...I think it's the nature of the beast. I have a kindred undermount stainless sink, single bowl. The bowl insides are 27.5 x 17 and I find it a good fit. When I first opened my faucet, my first impression was holy smokes, it's toooooooo huge. Not so. I love love love it. In fact, my faucet and single bowl undermount sink are my favorite things in the kitchen....See MoreWhich of These Roman Tub Faucets Do Your Prefer?
Comments (16)rmsaustin, This is a new construction home. I had the plumber check the pressure awhile back and it was well over 60. If I'm not mistaken it may have been 80+. MizzGG & OutsidePlaying, I am thinking of going with the Arzo. It will be centered as shown in the picture below. I may also have to use the Delta faucet pictured below for the vessel sinks as my plumber has some apprehensions of using the Kraus vessel faucets (pictured above) that I originally picked out. The plumber's concern is that the incoming supply lines to the faucet are only sealed by two rubber O-rings. I guess this is a different setup than Delta, Moen and other big name manufacturers use to seal the supply lines. He had a faucet with a single o-ring supply line connection fail a customer's house and caused thousands of dollars worth of damage. Since then, that design has left a bad taste in his mouth....See MoreFaucet Help - Delta, Brizo, Peerless
Comments (8)Or are you saying that they have only roughed in for the shower/tub and I can choose any brand I want for the sink? If this is true, that is great! I just can't understand why the salesman hasn't told me this. I can't figure out if it's me or them that are the poor communicators. :(...See More4kelleykelly
