largest undermount SS single bowl sink?
Comments (14)Yes, but at over $6000, way out of my league! I found a 36" SS single bowl sink from Ariel sinks. Here are my favorites: Ruvati- RVH 8300 one large bowl 32x19 decent price. Ticor TR 4100 or TR 4000. both good prices. Then I just found and fell in love with....a triple bowl. Which I cannot find anywhere! Ticor 1900 If I could find the TR1900 I think I would stop wanting a single bowl. Seems there are warehousing problems...whatever that means. Cannot get one until mid April...I translated that to actually mean early summer. All of them have the ledges and accessories. I am thinking about putting either the TR4100 or 4000 in my laundry room to wash our small dog in. Just can't decide whether the big sink or the smaller sink with drainboard would be best. I don't wash a lot by hand so it is mostly for the dog. I can set my dog on the drainboard and soap her up. I have about 36" for a cabinet. Wishing for a TR1900.....Peke...See More"Ledge" sinks and accessories -- do you use them?
Comments (44)All good comments and things to consider. Having a 45" sink would be nice but couldn't work with my Ikea cabs. The drainboard allowed for a minor mod and use of two base cabs rather than one large one. I find the drainboard very useful. I love cleaning and chopping veggies in that half. I like being able to slide them to pans in the ledge below. I like having the water and soap right there for my obsessive hand washing. You can still accomplish a similar arrangement with the other sinks you're looking at, but with less space. My use of the ledge evolves throughout the day. Right now I have a dish drainer in it with clean dishes. If I'm cleaning a lot of veggies, I'll first use it for all the debris so I do not have to let it get stuck in the grid. A garbage bowl can be used instead, but this is so easy and the trash/recycle is in the pullout below. I thaw most meat in the fridge, but do quick thaw fish, pork tenderloins, and chicken breasts in the plastic accessories. They are the perfect size, are right there to drain and refill with cold water. Since they are raised I still have room on the grid below for other items draining in colanders as I work on the drainboard side chopping. I mostly keep the other side for dirties, cans draining, and water use by others. The drainboard came in very handy during the holidays for opening and cleaning large, messy items, like turkey, ham, and tenderloin. The ledge is a clean part of my sink so keeping those items out of the basin is a plus for me. Of course, I disinfect before and after. I always open my meat packages there to keep the mess as contained as possible. I like that the sink becomes my command center and I pretty much do not need to move much. I take recipe items from the pantry and fridge that is just across the aisle to the right. As I finish each stage of prepping I move the trays of prepped food to the counter behind me. DW is out of the way to the left. I only go a few steps in each direction. I mention this as layout to suit your cooking style, minimize movement, and stay out of the paths of others help make your prepping experience good. A large sink surely helps, whichever you can fit and afford. Critical to my good experience with the Stages 45 is the Kohler Karbon. It is a wonderful faucet that greatly enhances my time at the sink. All said, we can adapt to our equipment and make the best of what we have. If your cooking style is mis en place, I think you would use the accessories....See MoreWeek 102 - What was your first time... and how was it?
Comments (24)I found GW one day in 2011 with a Google search. A month or so before that day, I had found an online cabinet company that showed the most beautiful kitchens using very inexpensive RTA cabinets. They looked great and within my budget at the time. I ordered a sample white painted door. It look pretty good. I was still trying to figure out my layout to place an order when I picked the door up and noticed it was badly cracking, not just the normal thin strait lines, but very jaggedly in all the mitered corners. (Yes I now know that mitered corners and paint are not good!) The paint also had bubbled in a couple places, and over all just looked like junk! I was bummed. I started googling RTA cabinet reviews. A GW thread on the subject came up. As I read through it, I soaked up the info like a sponge. I read all about conestoga, scherr's, barker, and many other good RTA companies. I was not sure what to do. But then I hit Hollysprings' (aka Sophie) post. I think all she said was 3 little words....."Cheap Chinese Crap" or something to that effect. It hit me. I got it. (Btw, not referring to those companies I mentioned above) I started busting up and have been hooked on GW ever since. It was the simple straight forward advice she gave that I needed to hear. I threw that stupid door away that very day!...See MoreMaster bath remodel
Comments (53)The shower in the middle is a unique touch, I love the color scheme. The accent tile in the shower was a really good touch. A towel warmer was a brilliant add, as who does not love a warm towel right out of the shower. This remodel turned out very well nice job....See More- 16 years ago
