Please help with bedroom bedding
Comments (27)Just to keep on the same page with the name "hunter green" attached to the color that was very popular once, it was a dulled or "dirtied" dark green, with a slight trend to the yellow side that had to be considering in working with it. I say dirtied because it's more like brown was added than like muted but still fresh greens. It was often combined with a dull off red, especially in "rustic" and "country" style items, like coffee cups and wallpaper strips with bears and hearts on them. I never bought anything but a shirt for my husband in this color, even though it was all over the place, because it definitely didn't go with the more vibrant and pure colors I was using at the time. Of course, the name's been attached to millions of items from millions of dye lots since then, but that's the base notion for this color....See MoreMaster Bedroom: Bedding and decorating, Please help
Comments (21)I actually like the feature wall and the curtains, but think everything else in the room fights them instead of works with them. The furniture, ceiling fan, quilt, pillows etc, all feel pretty standard farmhouse/suburban master bedroom, while the accent wall and curtains feel like they could belong either in a beach house in cape cod OR a beach house in Cali/miami. The cape cod direction can work with classic furniture like yours, but the furniture all needs to be white. The white quilt would work with that style. The cali/miami direction needs white modern furniture. But the heavy dark bed isn't working with the blue wall for me. Not sure what else to tell you!...See MoreMaster Bedroom refresh - lamp or other suggestions?
Comments (6)Centering, is in IMO, evil. Why do you have to center anything. I would remove the curatin panels and expose the windows. regardless of what they look like. I would also use up/down bambo shades, inside mount.(shades come in a variety of colors, grays, too, if that's your preference. Hang a drape rod at the ceiling, and get some textured fabric of your liking, flank the windows. ... for privacy, pull the blinds, the drapes are just for texture and softness. I would also find two different bedside tables, tall slim lamps. Paint the entire room, ceiling and walls the same color. replace the light fixture with a ceiling light that is more attractive than useful, like a statement fixture that sheds light upward I'd post something, but I don't know your style. Have fun decorating!...See MoreMaster Bedroom Refresh - Help!
Comments (85)Linda - just looked at your before pics again after not viewing them since early days when you first posted, i was struck by what a nice difference your changes have made. I do agree with RedRyder about that smaller art being too similar. Also like J D’s idea of a larger green plant in that spot. Would add to your serene & peaceful ambiance....See Morehousegal200
