Daylilies With the Highest Bud Counts 2019
Comments (29)Plasko - Thanks for the link. I can't even imagine what 150 buds would look like on one scape. I notice he does recommend the plant only for hybridizing. I do think the scape would have trouble staying upright. Do you have this one? Debra...See MoreTop Ten Favorite Daylilies of 2019
Comments (28)Mantis, Passion's Promise brings a smile to my face not only for its name but what a cheerful bloom. I love it ! and I agree with Brad on his comments on Morning Mood . How tall is MM by the way? You mention in your post " old Stamile daylilies" . Did he hybridize elsewhere other than Florida when he started out do you know ? And anyone know what year "old" Stamile cultivars became new Florida ones. I ask because I have tried to grow some Stamile's but more recent intros and they sure do not like it here. But Mantis you are in Ohio so similar growing conditions to me ( we are not that far from each other ) so I am wondering what the cut off time was between old and new so I can look for "old " Stamiles that just might do well here ....See MoreFavorite Patterned Daylilies from 2019
Comments (46)Signet, Navajo Pony does great here too. I think this was its 3rd year here, I have already shared it twice, and have 4 fans this fall so it multiplies rather well. It has produced a modest number of buds, but that is probably due to being divided up so much. i am looking forward to seeing it in a year where it does not get divided or moved. I think it is a dormant so really should do fine for you. Mine took off nicely and has done well from the start. I got it from Laura, and were nice fans. Yours may just be playing catch up this year. I do have it planted cLoser to the house where it may be a bit more protected. I keep all my favorites planted where I can see them easily several times a day when in bloom....See MoreFavorite Eyed Daylilies Without Edges 2019
Comments (30)Nancy, I really like the bold color of your Rocky Top intro! It has a beautiful pattern on the sepals. Ocktoberfest is a great performer for me too. Wish my other Maryott daylilies grow as well. Kate, that's a really nice clump shot of Rasp. Candy! Signet, my favorites of yours are Linda Sierra, Hold Your Horses, and Rainbow Maker. Debra, Blazing Sadles and seedling are very nice! Brad, your Maleny Debutante is very pretty. That green throat really pops. The color combination reminds me of Ruby Lipstick. Celeste, all of yours are very nice but your purples and blues are always the most stunning. I missed a favorite seedling of mine that fits this category.
