Should I redo my kitchen cabinets if I'm doing a remodel?
Comments (3)I think it depends largely on the condition of the cabinets, since you wouldn't want to invest in a new countertop on worn out cabinets. I'm keeping mine and doing a minor facelift. I prefer the look of hinges showing, too. If you have plans to move soon, though, it might be worth seeing how your neighborhood real estate is going. My parents had a realtor look at their home before their remodel. She recommended not doing a thing for resale value; they did the remodel anyway, but knowing it was for their enjoyment, not investment. Do your cabinets work well for you? If not, might be worth saving for. I'm on the conservative side when it comes to money and resources, though....See MoreShould I add hardware to my cabinets?
Comments (0)I am battling on whether or not to add hardware to my grey kitchen. I totally don't want to be one of those people who takes a perfectly good thing and ruin it with a bunch of crap. I sorta want to add hardware to my cabinets and at the same time I do not want to. I have been shopping around and there is nothing that catches my eye. I did run across some pull drawer hardware that was like a crystal clear modern but I honestly have no idea. I then began to search Instagram for others who have the same floor plan as I do. I came across only one person who put hardware on their cabinets that are like mines and looked pretty nice. What do you guys think? to add hardware or not ? also this will not be my forever home, and we will be moving in a year or two. Whatever I add, I need to make sure it is appealing to buyers....See MoreShould I add a waterfall to my kitchen island?
Comments (5)Trendy, will date the house, and break someone's toe on a midnight snack run. There are other ways to spend that money that will improve this kitchen: Drawers on the lower cabs, cabs to the ceiling, undercab lighting with light layering rather than spotlighting the cabs, induction (or gas) stove, slide-in range, real hood, off setting the range from the sink, single sink, etc. Folks here will be happy to advise. Comments (31)I would have some custom work done. I would do floating walnut or teak wood bedside tables below each side window that goes to the edge of each windows casing. Then I would carry that same wood all the way across and up to the bottom casing on the center section to make a "headboard" if you will. This would all be made/installed to look like one piece. Then I would mount simple crisp white drapery panels on the outside of each window to add more texture. Last I would have some rattan lights hardwired to hang above each bedside table. This is a very rough mock up obviously but to give you an idea. Lights would match just showing options. and if you don't want to get into electrical then some more organic feeling lamnops You have great windows in that room and I would show them off. The panels would also go on the windows to the side of the bed....See Moretackykat
