You are right, I guess I really am a big 'silly girl'. I re-read the post and it is crystal clear to me now that the OP did not want electric 'candel'abra in the dining room. Maybe others reading the thread are considering electric candelabra for a room so here are some: Here is a swag electric candelabra that could easily be mounted on a slanted ceiling like the OP describes. This is just an example not a style I would personally go for. For battery operated lights that look like candles check these out. I have seen them IRL and they look very real without the soot and fumes and danger of fire. Lots of places sell them, http://www.candleimpressions.net/ You can even get wall sconces for the battery operated candle so that you do not have wire anything. @flo- those are great! I love the one with the star! Thank you so much! Really appreciate it. If I could put a smiley face with the heart eyes on here..I would. Our island is about 8 feet long and I think 3 feet wide? And our dining table is a rectangle- one of those huge restoration style wood rustic styles. But we are totally open to new everything. Combining 2 households so getting rid of stuff to make room for more "permanent" pieces that reflect both of us ; ) Thank you!

Just to add, the kitchen appliances will be stainless steel gourmet, with a 48" range. I've decided on chrome for the plumbing fixtures since it is less expensive then the other finishes (and we need to reduce costs where ever we can since prices have gone up in just a year's time). I can change the kitchen faucet to a "spot resist stainless" finish (which is what I put in the last house we built, and the kitchen island lighting was 3 pendants in a brushed nickel finish, and that looked fine with the stainless steel appliances and black cabinet pulls). The only place I'm having the dilemma in finishes is the kitchen since the lights I like don't come in a chrome finish. The bathrooms will have chrome plumbing fixtures with vanity lights in chrome, and black cabinet pulls. Also, the door handles/pulls will be black as well. We are also selling this house, and it will most likely be a second home for the buyers.
