Lighting Design Dilemma dining room

Dining room: Looking for chair suggestions and light fixture advice

Hello All,

Starting a fresh thread as I think i have narrowed down some things id like to do with my dining area. I have included a photo of the dining area as it is right now, as well as the kitchen area it is open to. I will post the Light fixture, photo frames and curtains i'm planning to use in the comments.

My Plan:

1. Removing all artwork and putting a gallery of family photos in simple frames

2. Replacing light fixture with something similar to that posted in the comments

3. Replacing all chairs

4. Removing rug

My questions:

1. Should I look for a silver tone chandalier instead given that my island pendants are silver tone? I really like the gold/brass look and that it would match the frames, but unsure if you can mix light fixture metals successfully like that.

2. I want an affordable (~100$ chair) to use that has a lower back and is not upholstered in fabric (easy to clean) Can you suggest anything that would look nice based on the other elements?

suggestions for coordinating light fixture for dining room?

I love those raindrop chandeliers, but in my opinion they’re better suited for an entryway or stairway than a dining table. You could really do most anything in your dining room that would “go” with those pendants, but you don’t need to match. These types are pretty popular and pretty versatile.

Take a picture of the whole room not "the wall", try also standing up on the landing and shooting the room from there as well. Also, this room is narrow, so if you could draw a floor plan. And we need to see the ceiling. You can drop mono-rail lighting down and and focused light on the art, Tech lighting, WAC lightng try looking at their inspo pictures. I can help you more than that without some wide room shots and a floor plan. And yes that picture is way too small. You could even try hanging a real used window frame there. But I would probably do two pictures on that wall because of the size of the room. Another option, if there is an outlet on that wall and electrician maybe able to add a wall outlet.
