What is your New Year Resolutions on your garden?
Comments (23)So sorry for your loss zach. My resolution is to get every potted rose in the ground so I don't have to do the pot polka, in the garage/basement when it gets cold, back out again when it isn't. With temps going down to the teens tonight, I still have some pots to bring it. I have all the ones upstairs in the garage and I tried to get all the ones in the backyard in the basement last night, but the light has apparently burned out so I will have to go out there this AM to see what is left (and change the light bulb)....See MoreNew Years Resolutions, anyone?
Comments (25)I don't do resolutions, but wanted to comment on the massage. You are so right in that it can be a necessity! I have had two times where I ended up in physical therapy - once lower back, once neck/shoulder area. PT really helped but was somewhat time consuming - several weeks of mutiple appointments. I noticed the massage really seemed to relax my muscles so earlier this year when I was again having an issue, I started massage. As long as I do that and exercises on my own - the issue is resolved. I get these incredibly tightened muscles/knots. Usually it is associated with my job and changing my work station or chair or position, etc. I've also become aware of my posture and work on not slumping or slouching when I'm sitting and really engrossed in a project. Besides helping with the knotted/tight muscles, the massage is so relaxing and you come out feeling like melted butter HA! I would think it will help greatly with stress. Enjoy!...See MoreNew Year's Resolutions
Comments (1)Lucille I made this resolution a few years back and this is the time of year to reflect how well I am keeping it. I resolved to try to live in the present and appreciate my family, my home, my house and my pets and never, ever say any hurtful thing to them again. The year I was faced with devastating loss I wanted to go back in time and enjoy my lost loved ones. So far the worst thing I have done (yesterday) was complain when my husband was careless and broke a light fixture. I apologized two minutes later and felt bad about it. I am also serious about finishing my last degree this year. I have 5 classes to go (on line) and it kind of conflicts with the resolution I made about enjoying living in the present because it takes so much of my time. But I make sure I don't get all po'd when things don't go my way and just try to lower my clean freak standards a bit....See MoreIt's time for some New Years Resolutions, what's yours?
Comments (55)May I make a suggestion for those clearing out basements? Put the teens/20somethings to work on craigslisting/ebaying stuff for you! Think of how much easier it all would be with secretarial assistance! They can: Set you up with an account Take pictures of everything Track down the details for listing (measure items, do an online search for missing manuals, etc.) Haul stuff to wherever you need it to wait for craigslisters (your car/front porch/the curb). You could give them a cut of the proceeds as incentive. Seriously--our basement is a mess and I am not looking forward to future clearouts. It would be so much easier if I had help for the details. You can also put yourself on a charity's regular pickup list. Or several charities' pickup lists--imagine if you had regular pickup of unwanted items twice a month--with a receipt for income tax purposes! If you want to ebay it, how about finding a reseller in your area?...See Moreroselee z8b S.W. Texas
