I only grow Bolero out of the ones you mentioned, but I feel like you can’t go wrong with Bolero. It stays compact, blooms up a storm, and those beautiful petal-packed blooms smell wonderful. Bolero is also wonderful in the vase. It goes with everything! Lisa

I second Lisa's recommendation of Bolero. Its many good traits we all know, but will its shorter height work well where you plan to place it in the box? You can't go wrong with Bolero next to Double Delight, but I suspect DD would be almost twice Bolero's height.

I don't grow Crocus Rose, but I have,always admired its two colored bloom of whitish outer petals with yellow inner petals, very appealing to me. Kind of like a sunny side up egg.

I know that Bolero is a great rose, the two that I have bloom their little heads off.

My husband built me 4 boxes with 2 more to come. Our soil was so hard in that location that I could hardly get a shovel in to it so the planter boxes will seperate my " secret garden " from the rest of the yard.

I have Rock and Roll, Oklahoma , Out of Rosenheim, double Delight ( to come ) and across the yard is All American Magic.

So, next to DD I could also do another red. Im just not sure which one .

Bolero is a great rose and it would have been my pick too. It remains compact, has pretty blooms, and can be highly fragrant.

I must admit, that while touring the Seattle Zoo Rose garden last year, Bolero was the only rose that appeared to be highly affected by blackspot and it was clearly missing leaves. Glad SJN and Moses chimed in as the state of Bolero in Seattle may have been some kind of fluke due to external factors/culture...

Something like Chrysler Imperial or Crimson Bouquet could look nice next to DD. There are other great reds but I am drawing a blank right now...

I could do Crimson Glory and if I could find Velvet Fragrance that would be cool.

I have Crocus Rose and it is probably my most floriferous rose.

I’ve had it since the spring of 2015 its about 3’x4’ it’s never shot out any sort of octopus canes. It’s leaves are small and a dark green and cover the bush nicely. I never see a lick of disease on it here in arid Southwestern Idaho (but then again I don’t see much disease at all on any of my roses besides a little PM on a few roses in the shadier parts of the yard in spring and fall). It is well armed with curved thorns.

The flowers a borne in small clusters 1-5. it has 4-5 flushes throughout the season but the flushes last so long there is only a week or so where there isn’t a flower on the bush. The blossoms are always well formed and full of petals. The petal count does go down a little in the heat of summer but nothing drastic. Fragrance is really light just a soft perfume when you stick the your nose in the flower. Color also changes with the seasons its deepest coloring is in the fall with the cool nights. Other wise its a soft yellow that quickly fades to white. It does clean itself nicely.

I don’t know if it is the best for cutting I’ve only cut it once or twice for arrangements and gave away the bouquets.

If you're considering a soft yellow, Molineux is really pretty, fragrant and actually pretty healthy in my BSy yard. Fairly short thus far, but looks like it will grow bigger next year.

Bolero is a gorgeous rose. If you need extra yellow recommendations I LOVE LOVE my Charlotte.

It didn't stop blooming until this month and I never saw it without at least one bloom.

I think a pale yellow would really accentuate DDs beautiful color. I agree with the recommendation for Charlotte. Mellow Yellow would be another.

I have several Molineux which I love and I have severzl Bolero and Desdamona all which I love

I just wanted to try something new as there are so darn many to choose from.

Does no one grow Tranquillity ? Maybe there is a reasoreason for that

I used to grow Tranquillity but the petals were stiff (just didn‘t like that), the way the blooms aged, and didn’t really have much fragrance at all. I agree that Bolero and Desdemona are fantastic!

Maybe Braveheart or William Shakespeare 2000 or even Traviata

Braveheart was my favorite new rose last year (2017) . It's so beautiful , a great bloomer, blooms are huge and full, and a wonderful deep red. It's branchy, vigorous own root and doesn't get much bs. Not sure of eventual size. Traviata is very tall and narrow here , about 7'.

Crocus Rose is a great bloomer, but pretty big here. About 6' x6'. I've heard it's bs resistant but here it gets more bs than many of my Austins.

English Garden is a compact Austin , pale yellow, but I'm not that crazy about the dahlia shaped petals. It can be pretty and repeats pretty well.
