Comments (4)That's a great price. Even at HD they sell 10oz for $24.97. There is only one Whole Food store in CT, in Greenwich, but fortunately my son is working there, so I could ask him to stop by and see if they have it there. In what section he should look for it?...See Morewas expensive yesterday, but cheap today
Comments (10)Paid 3.95 in Illinois on Sunday. Went through Wisconsin later Sunday and it was in the 3.40's. Arrived in Minnesota and it was in the mid-3.60s. Returning today from MN, we filled up at the very last station in Wisconsin for 3.67, then headed back into Illinois where it's still 3.95. That's regular, unleaded. DH paid 4.20 on Sunday for his pickup - premium unleaded. This is the first time I've ever heard him complain about the total cost....See MoreWhy are these windows so cheap?
Comments (8)There is no reason to think the quote was for Andersen Renewal but if the dealer did not include the model names and numbers of the proposed windows I would move on to another dealer. Andersen's composite window for new construction is the 100 Series. It is made from "Fibrex" which is Andersen's wood fiber and PVC composite that they also use for sash cladding and muntins on their top-of-the-line WoodWright 400 clad wood windows (and probably for the Renewal series but that is a separate division of Andersen like Eagle, etc. and I have never been able to get any information about how they are made). The 100 Series is constructed of all Fibrex rather than a Fibrex cladding on wood. Fibrex is durable but it is not very stiff. Trex porch decking is the same material and it has to be over an inch thick to support what a 3/4" wood board would. I assume that is why they fix the upper sash of their "single-hung 100 series windows. They appear to be made just like all-vinyl windows with the upper sash glass narrower than the lower one, the upper sash pushed out flush with the frame and a frame depth shorter than a typical wall thickness requiring the addition extension jamb trim inside. IMHO it is a truly ugly window. It is best to order Andersen windows from a dealer who has qualified for Andersen's Circle of Excellence category. Last week I got a quote from a C of O dealer that was 18% less than the builder got from Home Depot (what was he thinking?). And that came with more professional assistance and a shorter delivery time....See Morecheap vs expensive sinks
Comments (39)Mary04 - in response to your post, as Brickeyee and I wrote above, we believe it is preferable to get a lower gauge. Others may have a different opinion. But I am unclear why you say you had trouble finding a lower-gauge sink to fit in a 30" cabinet. You didn't say whether you were looking for a double bowl or a single bowl. But in just a 2-minute search, I found 16-gauge stainless sinks that fit in a 30" cabinet. There is the Kraus KHU100-30 single-bowl sink, which by previous reports on this forum, is a beautiful sink, price includes grid and strainer, and it has an offset drain which is nice to have (my link below has 41 great reviews). Also, Ticor offers 4 variations of double-bowl sinks that fit in a 30" cabinet. As an aside, I don't know if you are looking at a single or double bowl version, but if I am looking for a sink to fit in a 30" cabinet, I would choose a single bowl sink, so that you have a bowl big enough to set down a roasting pan or cookie sheet.
