HELP...I need your decorating advice please
Comments (1)Well, what you've done already sounds lovely but can you post a photo or two? I too have a long and narrow living room, 12 x 23 and it's been a nightmare for me so I'm curious as to what you end up doing. One thing I have to add is I'm also concerned about the accent wall because I did exactly what you did with a copperish orange and even though I loved color, within a couple of months I was ready to paint over it. The reason is because orange is a very strong and energetic color and in the end it pretty much over powered the room. It also made it hard to relax in it. I plan instead to bring the autumn rustic colors into the room by way of the rug, lamps, pillows and so on, you know, little bits here and there. Directions for photo posting are here, I'm looking forward to seeing what you've done so far! Here is a link that might be useful: How to page...See MoreNeed a little advice on room decorating.
Comments (4)Thank you so much. The cat is cute.:) The chair is a recliner. There is a window over the sink the size of the sink and there is a window on the wall with the cat box that is 52" wide that has 2' to the wall the couch is on and 2'6" to the wall the door is on. The island is 3' wide x 5'8" long. It has bar stools on the side where the couch is. The floor is tile from the stub of a wall beside the fish tank to the corner of the island. The rest is wood, except for an entry in front of the front door that is 4'6"x3'6" deep.(as wide as little wall the door beside the cat box is on) I'll try to take pictures later on today or tomorrow after work after I remove some of the leftover construction stuff. I haven't painted the walls or the trim and I am open for wall coverings, ect. The walls currently have a light hand texturing but I'm considering doing knockdown. I don't really have a problem covering up the big window if needed. I'm not a sunshine person. The back door on the wall the stove is on used to be another window but I jack hammered it out and turned it into a door. It has a shade built into the glass(I couldn't find exterior French Doors that fit the opening where the 52" rear window was that weren't $1k and I needed the cabinet space anyway. )...See MoreNew Kitchen needs lighting and decor
Comments (2)I'd replace the builder boob lights (not a fan), add undercabinet lights, and pick a window treatment that adds some color/texture. I'd also consider swapping the knobs for pulls....See MoreNeed advice paint/stools/decor for white kitchen
Comments (13)Lovely kitchen! I agree that the wall color isn’t really helping things. I wanted to show you a photo of my kitchen because I have a lot of bright white in my cabinetry and backsplash, dark counters and pulls, and a blue grey on the walls. My wall color is Benjamin Moore Kentucky Haze. I hope it helps you to see the combination and if that might be something you might like. (My cabinetry is painted chantilly lace, and many of the walls in the rest of my home are decorators white)...See Morejunco East Georgia zone 8a
