Dining room mirror ideas
Comments (6)No mirror. You have nothing to reflect of any interest. And nobody wants to watch themselves eat. OTOH--Thank you for posting a well-lit photo. You'd be surprised how seldom that happens. But, now, put a dimmer on those things! That's one well-lit room. If that were my house, I would really want some visual separation between the Dining Room and both the Living Room and Kitchen. That's way too open for me. And I'd need some covering on that window. And I'd need some covering on that window; that blackness at night creeps me out....See MoreNeed help with tiny dining room
Comments (21)The cupboard would look better without anything on the top, because it is not really good to draw the eye so high up to the ceiling of the room. Not a good look. I'd also remove the wreath, but that's just personal preference as I don't like to see furniture with things attached to it like a wreath. I agree that the rug should be removed, it moves the eye "in" and emphasizes the small size. I would replace the mirror with a piece of wall art the same size, hung lower so that the midpoint is 60" from the ground. That will move the eye "out" and make the room seem larger. I would keep some type of drapery. The blinds alone are a bit too bare. It could just be something semi-sheer and floaty, e.g. sheer linen. It will add some softness to the room. It could be a color that looks good with your chair seats, which you could recover to give some color to the room. I love the wood of your table, and I think it looked better without the runner. @pennydesign, that china cabinet in the closet looks lovely....See MoreIs this dining room mirror too small?
Comments (52)Read the entire thread again. You said: Room is too small to be a dining space. True. At least it is with that table Your health and happiness depend on using the table Okay, but what of the health and happiness of those who dine? It is claustrophobic. How does one even back up a chair? Hubby holding the mirror, barely can stand behind the chair, you can barely up on the long sides of the table . You asked if the" mirror is too small". The mirror is too small for almost any spot with the exception of a dressing table. Fact is, the only place you have room for ANYTHING is on the walls. You are determined to have art, which a mural can be. You have no window, nothing interesting on the wall. It is literally coming AT you, or a diner. You want a mirror? Fill the space. Don't worry that people can see themselves dining. It beats being stuffed into a space too small to breathe in, let alone eat. Visually enlarge the room. Go big or stay home as the saying goes CLUSTER! Five of these..........Yes, five!!!. Fill some serious space. You will end with a "mirror" that is 65.5 x 65. and the room will double visually. The chandelier will sparkle. https://www.antiquefarmhouse.com/gold-framed-window-pane-mirror.html Or ................Won.t have quite the same effect, but at least it has some bang. OTHERWISE? Hang the "man" where you are attempting the mirror, Leave the other three on their wall, with the landscape centered, and flanked by the ladies. Done. Nobody can help, because you want what you want, whatever that shall be. There you go....See MoreDining room..creating space in a small dining room /sitting room area
Comments (3)Without an actual to scale plan of the space there is no way of knowing what will fit and I love the low cabinet with the art BTW. I think you might be able to put a round table in the DR but I need measurements of the spaces I never like fake greenery or flowers and the mirror is really not reflecting anything worth seeing twice...See MoreCorinne Masterson
