Look what my tenant did to my beautiful trees!!! - photos!
Comments (20)With that many vines on the tree, not sure that the trees were mainly dead already, most vines are not trees best friends. As far as the deck being wooden and grill on it, if it's a gas grill should be legal as long as its not multi-family dwelling. In most cases, if done properly a deck built around a tree won't harm it. I know it's your property and I sympathize with you as you should have given permission, but the deck looks nice. In addition make sure it wasn't the vines covering the trees that killed the trees, because from the before and after photos, I do not see too much tree, just vines, wouldn't want you to get counter sued....See Moremy house will not sell!
Comments (33)First I want to say, what a cute house! I was amazed at the price, under $60,000.! You could not find a house with a garage here for that price. I think the house is in good shape, wallpaper and all. I think that if you took that white monitor off of the desk, people wouldn't realize it was a computer area. I don't know many people that don't have a computer in their living room (we do) dining room or bedrooms (we do). With 4 people, we each have our own computer, I currently am using the office for mine. No one has said a word about any of our computers. I also agree, get the date off of the pictures. The living room, the white is very white. I think it would look warmer in a sage, the woodwork wouldn't look so dark. Or you could go a little darker then your couch. That is if you want to paint. People see white and know they have to paint. Bedroom - as was mentioned, get rid of the headboard. I wouldn't even put it back after pictures, it looks like it is blocking the window. I also wonder if using a wide angle lens would make the room look bigger. Get a different comforter & curtains - something to co-ordinate with the wallpaper, it won't look as bad. We have a printed paneling in our one bathroom, so I got a shower curtain & window curtain that would take the focus away from the paneling. You should be able to go to Walmart or Target and find something blue, with cute pillow shams, instead of pulling the comforter over the pillows. I went to the search page at the site you linked to - your photo has a big "Reduced" ribbon on it. When did you reduce? Your write up is "lots of storage" do you have any pictures of a cute closet or laundry area? I ended up getting wicker baskets, then staging the laundry area a little better, it came out pretty good. I did a little research at realtor.com. You are the only one to not even have a listing picture. Since none appear to have enhanced listings, I can't see what the other houses look like inside, so it's hard to say if you are priced right....See MoreHow can I sell my house?
Comments (26)Catherine, You do not want to try to sell it for cash to an Investor. They will low ball you sooo bad, you can't sell it for that. Ask family to help put drywall up on the walls. See if you can get a Home Depot credit card. Then buy some nice neutral paint, like beige, and paint the walls. Have a painting party one weekend. Don't worry so much about the floors, you could have some nice cheap carpeting put down. DOn't feel weird about borrwing the money to make the house presentable! The payments will be low, and even though it will probably sell if the work is done, if you absolutely had to rent the house, it still has to be finished. Stage the house! Start packing now. Your moving! Pile the boxes against walls that don't have to be worked on. It's hard to do this all by yourself, but mabey friends and family can help you. Price your house after it's completed 10K under the competition. USE a fricking realtor if you want to sell it fast. It is worth every dime! Then pour your self a nice big glass of wine and relax. LOL! Look at the bright side, at least your hubby is working!...See MoreHelp me jazz up my tenant's apartment!
Comments (36)Hi, I'm a Realtor, been going into other people's houses for a number of years, did a bit of property management, & here's what I've learned: Warm tones go with warm tones, & cool with cool. Bright white goes through periods when everybody wants it, & then after they've cleaned it for a year or so, nobody wants it! Plus, if a white is too "clean", it'll make furnishings look dingy. It's a cool-to-cold color, not inviting at all. (Think laboratories.) Warm colors are more inviting & they'll harmonize with the warm golden & brown wood floors. The medium-light warm neutrals will go with most people's stuff, & they'll go with the floors. The kitchen has the potential to be very charming. You might get some ideas by searching for images of kitchens in the 1900's or the 1940's... but there again, warm neutrals will probably be better for a rental. If the budget will stretch to new kitchen flooring, you might get rid of that cold-looking gray & replace it with a good grade of vinyl (Congoleum used to have a product that will outlast us all) in a warm color & a "vintage" pattern, or even install those linoleum squares like you see in school cafeterias. They would look appropriate for the age of the building, you can move the fridge without tearing the flooring, & that stuff lasts forever....See MoreHU-22236253
