Need Help with Exterior Paint Combo Ideas
Comments (3)Cute house. What's your style? What are your inspirations? I like this. Natural, serene. Not a real stark contrast in the colors except for the roof. More of a traditional colonial look. Not a huge change from where you are now....See MoreHelp! New exterior paint ideas needed!
Comments (23)You're right Kevin. Also, I was paying some attention to the other old homes in the area and I noticed a few other colonials with the same verticak detail, and one house with the same door and tiny window set up...go figure, the house was all white. The more I think about it, I will not include the trim around the small vertical windows in the trim color. I will keep them the same color as whatever the house will be painted. I think it will be less distracting....See MoreNeed help with exterior paint ideas
Comments (0)My house is unique in that the previous owner did an addition and only installed half vinyl siding. I now have all white, half asbestos siding and half white vinyl, so I would guess the house pretty much has to stay white as the only thing I can paint is the asbestos siding and trim. I need some help breaking up the white with some color, maybe the trim? The vinyl is the 3rd floor and the asbestos is 1 and 2. The brick columns are like a light beige off-white... I don't have the cash to reside it right now, so hoping paint can help give it more curb appeal. The house is ocean front so maybe a coastal blue color trim? Any suggestions / guidance appreciated....See MoreIn need of ideas of paint colors for exterior lake cottage.
Comments (12)I'm going in a lighter direction, just to imagine driving up to a butter yellow cottage-y lake house for a long weekend. This house has reddish roof like yours but blue shutters (if you're keeping) and blue front door. Do be careful with yellow choice, though, so it's not overbright--creamy butter yellow. Repaint your rocking chair blue or dark red, add red stone/brick pavers leading to steps. Not that you want to spend time working on landscaping, but your lovely house would be even more charming with a white picket fence on the right side with climbing roses, if you have right light and soil conditions and a mix of different sized evergreens on the left side than the bushes that are there. There's also sage and red (so you can echo red chimney, red shutters, and steps) Paint welcoming rocker red as well. Note the nice mix of plantings in front. You do want set-and-forget native plantings suitable for soil and light conditions so you can spend more time at the lake and not on the yard. Here's an interesting color combo--mustard and red--on a lake house:...See Morethinkdesignlive
