I folks. I haven't had a time to catch up with forum reading today. DH and I are on vacation in Charleston! What a beautiful city. I can't stay on the computer long, but I wanted to thank everyone for the great lamp suggestions. Nanny2a - I love that lamp! That just might be a winner, although it is more than I wanted to pay. So what do you guys thing of that one? Does it have a cottagey feel? I am through trying to match the one in the inspiration picture, but do want to stay with the feel of the room. I saw an alabaster lamp at Homegoods a few days ago. I'm going to look at it again when I get home. I know the shade was awful, but I could change that. My3Dogs, I want to take another look at the marble ones you found. I can't use the brass lamp I have, 'cause I only have one. I would be concerned with how everything sounds light and airy with all of the white, aqua and seagrass and then there's this heavy, massive bed. I think a bed like this asks for black, and relative moody colors like red. The chests are fine but better in black. This bed is better suited in an English country type room with lots of layering and drama, maybe a Spanish style interior because of it's massive visual weight....

Pics would help. You could choose to not try to match either. Recently I've been wishing I'd invested in a wood two drawer filing cabinet that locks as a bedside table for financial records, perhaps with a third shallow top drawer for valuables and/or items (cash/jewelry/weapon/ammo) that need to be safeguarded from particularly nosy visitors. Had I done that while working in an office, I could have gotten it at the discount offered the office by the local office supply store. You might actually find one in maple -- wide variety of prices and styles.
