Wood Blinds OR Roman Shades in vintage/cottage kitchen?
Comments (47)marcolo, that's the plan!! athomeinva, they can look chunky pulled up, but on these small window... not so much! Wood blinds are definitely classic and period appropriate! thanks everyone.. all the responses have been very, very helpful! We have been living in the house for over a month now, and living here is what really finalized my choice. I see I need some light control as well as privacy - yet I do want to be able to pull them up - if I desire (I may not even feel I need to). I usually sacrifice function over looks... but in this case, I am picking function over what I desired for looks! I'll post pictures when blinds go up!...See Morecan you help me find a gray comforter??
Comments (5)I recalled seeing one at Kohl's but thought it was a comforter SET, so I didn't mention it. It's a Vera Wang set, and she can be quite pricey, even at Kohl's (but, hey, it's $100 off! WhooHoo!). But it's in today's Kohl's circular, so I will link to it. Now that I've just done a product search on the Kohl's site, it's picturing something different than what I saw, though. So the link is to the "new" one; it's a darker charcoal gray. Then go to the Kohl's Web site, click on "Today's Ad" and flip the virtual circular to page 15, and you'll see the one I first remembered; the comforter is a lighter gray (it seems to be overlaying a lavenderish one). Comments (37)A roman shade isn't that hard - I know you can do it! I like the idea of softer, more muted fabrics - and I really like the blue bubbly looking one you last posted. BTW, Christopher Peacock used a tangerine paisley in his kitchen: This might look nice too. or this: Since you like to shop online, try Hancock's of Paducah. They have a ton of nice quilting and home decorating fabrics. I also like fabriccarolina.com, which is where the scrolly fabric came from. Good luck finding something perfect! Comments (10)Just to throw a monkey wrench in the system before you start sewing : ) , take a look at NikkiDesigns, http://nikkidesigns.ca. I found her shop on Etsy, but she also has a website. She is reasonably priced anyway, you get 10 percent off for subscribing to the newsletter, and because she's in Canada, if you're in the U.S. you get the benefit of the weak Canadian dollar. Also free shipping over $300 if I recall correctly. She has Best of Houzz badges for 2016 and 2015, too....See MoreBeth H. :
