Kitchen Pendants- Which pendant light for this kitchen?
Comments (6)I like them all, but not number 2, but maybe that one will work for your taste- it's just not mine. I really like 3 and 4 (the one your husband likes)....See More3 pendants? 2 Pendants? Size? Lighting up the kitchen
Comments (13)@ levy, It is math hon. Second fixture( Home Depot ) Lets assume the attachment uses 5" , the fixture itself is 12 inches, and there are three 12 inch stems and you use one. Add it up. That's 29 inches. Now add the 36 to the counter, and the 36 that IS the counter height. ....101" Ten more inches than you HAVE, floor to ceiling, unless you use no stem at all.. So I would get thee to a Home Depot, and see in person if you are determined to have three, and make sure of total and how you will HANG it. Either find the electrician with a threading tool, or get TWO of the 13" emery......at least you will have a couple 6" rods Here are THE SPECS/INSTALLATION /LINK to Emery https://www.quoizel.com/media/catalog/product/attachments/instruction_sheet/IS-ER1814_30.pdf No......you should not do three of EMERY. NO.no. no. Not even on 85 inches of counter. Look at my photo above. Those are 14" diameter with two over an 84 inch dining table...See Moreany photos of 18" pendant(s) in kitchen with 8' ceilings?
Comments (7)I cant believe you just commented on this chris. I was actually searching for similar photos/threads last night and found one threat that was several years old where you had posted that photo and I liked the look of your pendants but didnt know how low they were hanging. I was going to comment and ask how long they were but it was a long thread, a few years old, and you only posted once in the middle of it so I figured it was a waste of time. I am concerned that 26" is too low since they will be in my sightline but thanks very much for jumping in!...See MoreAre these Pendant lights too big?
Comments (15)Pakmount, I get it, these pendants will be a style statement that affects your whole kitchen. That said, I can’t recommend a precise fixture since I can’t tell what style your house is, how far apart the fixtures have been roughed in, and the other metal finish selections in your new kitchen. I will say from my own kitchen; steer away from clear glass and open bulb fixtures. They are a nightmare to keep clean. I will clean mine (take down the globes, wash them in hot soapy water, dry them, put them back up) and they only stay pretty for about 1 week. Cooking oils + dust + clear glass = no fun. Also, the more pendants you have, the simpler they should be. Try to think if it as an art installation that will provide the surface of your island with some needed task lighting. If you have proper coverage with can lights around the room, these pendants don’t need to shine light all around the room. Type in “cone pendant” “globe pendant” into Houzz kitchens....See More- 5 years ago
