I not having trouble finding lights which would only hang down 18", I am wondering what such short pendants would look like in a room with such low ceilings.

I cant believe you just commented on this chris. I was actually searching for similar photos/threads last night and found one threat that was several years old where you had posted that photo and I liked the look of your pendants but didnt know how low they were hanging. I was going to comment and ask how long they were but it was a long thread, a few years old, and you only posted once in the middle of it so I figured it was a waste of time.

I am concerned that 26" is too low since they will be in my sightline but thanks very much for jumping in!

No problem! I had a tape measure handy so it was easy for me to measure. Maybe get pendants that are easily adjustable and play around with it in your space. I think they could look stubby at only 18" so maybe somewhere more in between?

We are doing globe semi-flushmounts from cedar and moss on our 8’ kitchen ceiling. We have a nearly 10’ x 4’ island and are doing two of them.

My ceilings are 8ft. I can’t measure the fixture length from ceiling to bottom because I’m not at the property. They are hung about 33-34 from island if I remover correctly.

The bottom of a pendant hung over a counter height item should be 66”-72” above the floor. Add 18” to that, and you don’t have a log of dangle from a 96” ceiling. 18” is too tall to get a good look from a pendant with s 96” ceiling. It looks artificially foreshortened, like some real estate picture where they shoot with the wide angle lens and create all kinds of distortion.
