Color Selections for Bathroom update

We've started to so some preliminary options for bathroom colors. Anyone want to talk colors? Both selections are neutral.

So this is Option A --

Kohler Choreograph Dune

Dark maple cabinet

Countertops -- Corian or Viaterra

Plainer LVT

Option B --

Kohler Choreograph Brick White

Flooring with a lot of variation

Dark or mid cabinet (I think one is hickory, one is maple)

Countertops -- Corian or Viaterra

I just brought all the samples home this morning and will stare at them some more later. I am leaning towards Option 2, because I like the subway tile look for the shower, and I like the flooring but I worry if it has too much going on or is too trendy. Option A would be safer.

I'm inclined to want to go with 2 patterns, not 3.

If the first option was your preference, I don't care for the wall material with the flooring. the colors don't look like they quite match. But if the colors are good, I'd go with the floor and the shower, with the white counter.

the second option, I like both to woods for the vanity. I don't think I'd put the variegated counter with the floor though. I'd probably go with the white again.

What if you take the variegated counter with the floor in the first picture, and the dark vanity. Then the white walls for the shower. I think the variegated counter looks better with the LVT in option 1. The LVT in option 2 looks a little bit of a pink cast. Be sure you know what those undertones are, before you make your choices.

Thanks, I think it's difficult to tell the actual color in the photographs. This morning everything looked greenish to me on my photos at the showroom. In my house, everything looks a little grayish. I want the bathroom to be warm and creamy overall, but some gray is good if it is a nice warm gray that blends.

I'm leaning more toward the hickory sample for the cabinets, which is the one on the left in the second photo. The LVT in option two is Audra Cape May Shell. It has some gray and brown together. I need to decide if it's too wild for me, but it is not crazy and it will hide dirt well. I like that it's a little rustic. The LVT in option one is Audra Meridian Stucco. It's gray/tan.

The shower walls with the color are a tiny bit warmer than the floor, but we will have a white tub that give some separation. I thought I definitely wanted the white brick pattern but the stripes are kind or pretty too. I wouldn't mind my bathroom feeling like a vacation home in, maybe Colorado.

Here's my most favorite inspiration photo at the moment. I think I love this. But mine will be the knockoff, the vanity will have 3 drawers on each side and the cupboard in the middle and we have a single sink. I love the faucet, but I would have to get a knockoff of this manufacturer (who doesn't have good ratings). I like a light, plainer counter, but I don't want my space to be super-boring, either. I want the bathroom to have a little bit of something special going on in it:

This is my second favorite inspiration photo on Houzz, and it's very different! I like how all the textures work together and it's a beautiful mix. This one is a bit fussy for me though.

The Bricks Choreograph looks a lot like white subway, so nice and basic. Easy peasy.

Thank you Roarah for your suggestions. They both look good, but I was trying to use my same trim color which is not as white as those. My bedroom is a greenish gray and I wanted a different color for the bathroom. I looked at Revere Pewter but it changes colors with the lighting and shadows and I would definitely have to change the trim color. It also may not work with the navy floor.

As mentioned above the tile floor is gonna be the "issue" only because it would really limit the colors on the wall or even the vanity.. are you looking to only paint or is this gonna be a full remodel?

I'm a little concerned about the tile layout in the shower. I'm seeing small slivers on the sides of the large tiles. Generally when laying out large scale tiles like this, I would expect to see the tile pattern wrap around the side walls from the back wall. Here are some pictures showing what I mean. It is much more pleasing to see the cut tile on the back wall wrap around and continue on the side wall and keeps a consistent pattern. I'm not seeing that on your side walls. They seem to have been tiled independently from the back wall. What colour is the countertop you've chosen. That may dictate paint choice both on the wall and on the vanity. I'd lean towards one of the darker colours in the pebble tile. Is that tile only going in the niche?

What finish do you have in other bathrooms/kitchen? You could match those unless this is a different style. The tiles are warm colored. Did you select the brand and style faucets? Sometimes you are limited in finish based on the selected style.

OK, after reviewing with my spouse, we think we are going to do Option 2 (white brick Choreograph) with the cabinet color on the left and the Linen (pretty basic) Corian. I am not 100% confident in the wild floor, but will meditate on that.

I like your inspiration pictures @karen. the second one you posted, does have a lot of texture, but the colors relate and the scale of pattern doesn't compete imo. The counter is a smaller version, in negative reverse of the floor. I like it. Your hickory may very well go with the LVT in your second option, just be sure the colors are spot on in your room and the patterns complement each other.

So how do you check the undertones for colors against each other? I am having a second meeting with the contractor tomorrow. I think we will do the white shower walls, and I'm going to put in a Kohler shower barre on the back wall of the shower and maybe a Kohler shower shelf on the plumbing side. Here is the bathroom as it is now:

So the 40" (or maybe a 36") Kohler Shower Barre will go on the wall under the window and function as a grab bar and shelf as needed. Then I might add a 14" Kohler shower shelf on the plumbing side and leave the back wall clean so all the shampoo and stuff is hidden by the curtain.

You can see the barre on the mink hollow photo above. It's a little modern looking but I think that's fine. What do you think?

This is what the vanity looks like now. I am thinking of changing the pendants to sconces. That vanity will still be flanked by the two doors to the room.

Both of my inspiration photos have gigantic mirrors. One has the scones on the mirror and the other has pendants. So much to think about!
