The first and third photos look like sunburn or cold injury. Had you recently rotated the plant, changed its position, transported it, or allowed the leaves to come in contact with a cold window? The second picture looks like mechanical injury and the 4th picture appears to be a leaf in the process of being shed. This can occur as a function of natural senescence (aging) or any of several other factors, among them are a reduced photo load (lowered light level or duration of exposure), too much/too little water, sudden chill, root congestion, a level of mineral salts in the soil that is too high, ...... It seems doubtful that you'd be over-watering if you're using a cup of water per week and pulling back from that amount. Is it possible more than one person is watering the plant? It really doesn't look to me like your plant is circling the drain. IOW, I don't think there is need for extreme concern for its immediate future; but, that isn't to say there aren't improvements that can be made that could increase its level of vitality. Vitality is a measure of how well your plant is hanging in the game with the hand you're dealing it; and in the end, you'll discover that a healthy root system is a prerequisite to a healthy plant. I've just taken the plant out of the pot and the soil looks very dry, I've read that you can soak it in water to help it regain the moist that it needs. It was in a plastic pot for two years, then changed to a terracotta pot (which was wet) for a year. I cleared the root ball as much as I could and then used new potting soil to pot it.

hello everyone i bought this rubber plant a week ago and i watered it once and put it in indirect sun light but these spot started to show after the watering i confess that the bottom leave get wet when i was watering the plant but its so so hot here in my country so it didn't last so long i didn't care at first but anther leave is having these balck spot as well i thought it was fungi and did some research and i wiped the leave with water an vinger yesterday but it worsen what should i do some people wrote that i should cut the leaves some said no i am really confused now what should i do

Thank you Ellen for your comments. Yes I got the plant with the clay balls, but from the beginning the indicator showed "min", although the pant looked healthy. A couple of questions: . I thought the brown spots and areas on the leaves indicate over watering don't they? . I took out most of the balls and checked the pot. The roots are everywhere, meaning that when the pot is watered the lower roots would be sitting in water, is that ok? . I have added a nutrient every now and then during the warmer months, but I cant really flush the balls since it's a closed system, or is there another way to do it? . When I took out the balls I saw that the bottom part of the pot was moist, but there was no water build up. Also some of the pebbles have white spots in and between them, is this normal? . The roots at the bottom are dark, the upper parts are more white, but they both feel firm and not mushy. Here are two more pictures. . Regarding the leaves: The small and big ones are falling together at the same time. Some from the bottom and some from the top, though mostly bottom. The fallen leaves are not dry and brittle, they are soft and yellow, the bigger ones have brown areas, the smaller ones don't.
