UPDATE on my "I Hate my Kohler Stages Sink", new Karbon facuet
Comments (10)SO glad it's at least somewhat helpful. Seriously, I wouldn't know about even HALF of the things I've put into my kitchens over the years if it weren't for the real-life experiences of actual cooks who do their kitchens and share here. The faucet was chrome, so maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but we had several other chrome elements, so it worked for us, and at 40% off what I was expecting to pay, I was IN. Karbon for $769 This faucet is seriously amazing. Count me in the fan club!! A total aside, but the AutoTap was another purchase that has revolutionized how we cook. I remember reading about the TapMaster years ago, and I found the AutoTap for FAR less, and I'm in love. My ONLY beef with the KK faucet was that you had to turn the water off in order to revert back to a steady stream. The AutoTap makes it as easy as a tap of the toe. Love this thing. My other half came in with mucky hands and walked right over to the sink and just tapped it on. Nifty AutoTap #KitchenDorkLOVE...See MoreI hate my new kitchen
Comments (91)Pot lights in a perimeter pattern (about 12 inches from cabinets) the ceiling, a soffit with crown moulding over the cabinets, modern long SS cabinet handles, a pretty modern chandelier/ceiling light with personality to replace the fluorescent light, SS microwave, stove, and dishwasher to match the fridge..... SS appliances, pot lights, crown molding over a short soffit so cabinets appear to go to the ceiling, cool light fixture. Long handles on the cabinetry, again soffit to ceiling pot lights Interesting light over proposed/suggested island. The kitchen needs to be finished before you will feel comfortable in it; items are not relating to each other because you do not have enough items in the kitchen.......when you do have all the elements it will look 'finished' because it will be....See MoreWall color makes me hate couches? Comments (17)So interesting to think about the implications of lighting - I will definitely have to play around with different bulbs! Gracie01, the art is actually a 4 piece panel (antique, Chinese, gold w multicolor cherry blossoms, birds, etc) I agree that's not showing as such on the monitor. Pillows are gold in same fabric as chair on opposite wall. Second set of pillows has a creamy background with green-ish geometric pattern - again, absolutely agree it's not appearing that way at all through these pics. I'm realizing that part of my issue is that I never really wanted yellow walls to begin with, and sort of let the painter (whom I actually think is great) influence the decision to do this Greenmount Silk. I'd actually prefer something like a BM Gray Mirage at 50% or so...as it is, the blue against the yellow still looks garish to me. I don't want to change the window treatments, unfortunately, as they were custom made for this space, and price-y. I really appreciate all of the helpful suggestions!...See MoreI hate my ikea couch but--
Comments (13)within a year or two, where you sit will become evident. the foam cushions will sink, the cheap fabric will stretch, you'll get wrinkles, divots, etc. To me these are throw away sofas. Have you considered Article? They look great, seem to be built well, and are quite reasonable For ex, this guy is 1299. because the cushions are separate, (compared to that ikea w/the longer foam cushion) you won't see the sagging and drooping as much as the one cushion) I got the black leather sofa/bench, and the walnut chair, but the sofa comes in plenty of colors and a few diff material options. The leather is actually very nice, and not the cheap bonded stuff. comes in a loveseat size too, (I really like this warm, med. gray color and material. will go w/everything) or w/a chaise: https://www.article.com/browse/1/sofas Take advantage of the 3 months, no interest payments, and pay the balance on the 4th month! I don't know what you mean "I don't know where I'll be in a year", but unless you think you may end up in prison or in a small trailer, this sofa should be able to go with you!...See Moreshirlpp
