Dining table length and sideboard
Comments (10)Mari So sorry about your mom - how fortunate she is to have a loving daughter DR dimensions are similar to mine - My table is 42"w x 62" L w/o any leaves & has 4 chairs around it - can fit 2 additional w/o leaves. I have a buffet 19.5" x 62"L - It has ample room around to pull out chairs and elbow room at the table. Previous to current set, we had a set that seemed to overwhelm the room - I hated it & we under utilized it as result. Other considerations Windows, casement openings, doors, any built ins How the DR is typically used - how many people sit at the table Posted link below may help - Here is a link that might be useful: DR...See Moreany pics of small square-ish diningrooms?
Comments (29)kitchenkelly, A wine tower is a great idea. I hadn't thought about that at all, but it has the height and some substance. It could work. georgiagal, I'm so glad you posted. I've always loved your diningroom! I think I need to study it to see how you've accomplished that look. (Our room looks so sparse in comparison but with nothing on the walls or window, what do I expect?) Which wall is longer in your room? I'm sorry about not posting photos of our table finally set up as I had promised ages ago. We've had a recurring problem on our other computer and it seems the kids have ignored the messages that we have limited room on our hard drive. Didn't even know that was possible but it's so bad we can't even properly defragment. So I have to be careful with what I download onto that computer. I may be able to download something and quickly transfer it to photobucket but I got an error message the last time I tried that. It's always something....See MoreWhich Cabinet / Sideboard Would You Choose?
Comments (12)Sorry for the delay! I looked at the buffet again and another pic of it shows it with a brass accessory or top. Also, if you go to the link I put above, and move your cursor over the knobs on the doors, they appear to be antiqued brass. You appear to have a good distance between the dining area and where the coffee table will go, so I personally would be fine with it. You've got a bit of a rustic vibe in the dining area and more 'formal' in the living room, so I would do it. This is coming from the woman who got a great deal on this brass and glass coffee table below from eBay back in 2010, so I am prejudiced toward brass. :-) I paid about 1/4 of the asking price for it on !st Dibs - HERE...See Moresideboard cabinets beside fireplace
Comments (3)Are those cabinets taller than your windowsills? They look like they might be. If so, I think that would look odd. What sort of decor do you want to display? I think too much decor would distract from your lovely fireplace and draperies. Can some of the decor work on your mantel?...See MoreSusan Davis
