Which Cabinet / Sideboard Would You Choose?
Which cabinet / sideboard would you choose? Cabinet will go against the wall beside dining room table. The first option is same color (or very similar) to dining room table and legs of counter stools. The second is a different color. I added an additional photo showing a close up of the color. I am thinking of going with a gold and glass coffee table (see photo.) Here are some other photos showing the rest of the pieces in this room.

5 years agoI agree with d_gw, as the table has a rustic tone, and the first one, with its lighter color, blends with the fabric on the 2 chairs. Could you add a pic of where the console is going, including a bit of the dining area?
I'd personally be looking at one a bit closer in tone to the table and chairs, like this one, as your table and chairs are more rustic than the items in the living room.

Comments (34)anele, i haven't got the buffet yet, but it'll be difficult to convince me not to use that buffet as inspiration because i'm in love and love isn't always rational. :) what did you have in mind? also, to paint a bigger picture, this dining room is open to the kitchen and family room, and the family room will have a large fireplace covered floor to ceiling in an old european style dressed fieldstone, large casual comfy sofas... the kitchen will be what i'm dubbing "farm glam" - white shaker style cabinets, black chunky hardware/pulls, large white cast iron sink, chrome finish on farm-style plumbing and light fixtures, shiny aqua backsplash from ann sacks, curvy stainless vent hood with chrome accents. as you can tell, i'm really comfortable with all my individual items not being the obvious choice or matchy matchy. :) i'm sure it's a peeve of plenty of folks on this board to not keep within a period or genre or architectural integrity, but it makes me happy. Comments (15)I did an L shaped with Island. It works for the way we cook and entertain. In past kitchens... We have had a G shaped , A giant U shaped with inside U island. (really a barrier), Galley kitchen, a galley that turned into a L at the end, a U with a peninsula, an L shaped.. and when we did our final kitchen. We chose an L shape with giant Island and wide wide aiels to accommodate friends and multiple cooks. Think about the way you cook. If my kitchen were only about cooking I would do the Galley as that is easy for a single cook with various work stations and saves on stepping to complete a task....See MoreWhich kitchen cabinet color would you choose?

5 years agoThe cabinet will go on the wall where the dog crate is currently. We have no television in this room, so I would like a space with a more grown up feel for entertaining. Our home has an overall transitional feel. Thoughts? Any other advice / tips for this room are welcome.

5 years agoAfter looking into the cabinet more, it appears it may not be as whitewashed as the photo appears. Here is a photo someone posted of it in their space.

5 years agoWinker58 the table and chairs are both from Pier1. The color is Natural Stone Wash. The color does have a white wash to it.
