Help with window treatment for off centered window
Comments (6)I don't think the centered thing will be an issue at all. And, as for ease of cleaning, I can't imagine they'd ever need a deep cleaning in bedroom. In a dining room or kitchen maybe, but not a bedroom. If you like the drapes, I say take em' with you. Moving costs can get so out of control that it seems silly not to reuse the items you already own, if you like them. If you have a good vacuum with an extension on it for upholstery, just hit em with that once a month or so to remove any dust build-up. I have linen pottery barn drapes in my living room that pillow to the floor - i vacuum the ends where they get dusty once a week and in the pleats where dust hides I only vacuum every few months - but that's about it. No dry cleaning routinely or anything. How often did you clean them before?...See MoreHow do I fix a off centered window and ceiling peak?
Comments (22)I agree that curtains are making the situation worse. They look pretty bad hung as they are, too low and too wide. Even if you raise them above the window, which would be better, but even then, they highlight the fact that the rod is not centered on the arch. I'd use just a shade the same color as wall (once it's painted the ceiling color). Then move the TV over to center of the blank wall....See MoreDrapes for off centre window
Comments (12)Thank you SimplyNatural. I agree totally about the placement of the sectional. I did in fact originally have the furniture arranged as you suggested. However, it didn’t work given furniture I have to work with — in particular the height of the nested end tables clashed with the low height of the ottoman end of the sectional. I’ve taken a photo from a different angle so you can see the space I’m working with. I LOVE your pic with drapes added! So I’ve made up my mind that the drapes can indeed extend to the wall. Thank you....See More3 narrow off-center windows - how to hang curtains?
Comments (5)I also agree with @Patricia Colwell that Roman Shades would look best on these challenging windows! As @Valinta said, there are linen look fabrics which would be very pretty in this bedroom. I’d also mount shades at top close to ceiling. I might hang art on wall space next to chair & place the table that’s on left of chair over to right, next to window....See MoreD M PNW
