Loventhelook of integrated column freezer and refrigeration. Looking for a 30" fridge and 18" freezer, deciding between thermador and sub-zero. I've heard that the thermador is as good if not better than the subzero columns. Any feedback? The pricing is certaining better, about 3k less, but the interior design in the thermador isn't great. The shelves look like the same shelves I see in $700 refrigerators, and the subs seem like their layout hold a heck of a lot more. Am I wrong? Subzero 48" built in is the cheapest of all, but the look of the columns really can't be beat.

We are building a house and we chose the Miele 36 inch--not yet installed. We were sold by the quality of the door, the way the custom wood could completely cover the fridge door, the beautiful lighting, the crisper, the completely movable shelves and lots of reading from these forums re: some of the issues with the sub zero. If you go to the showroom it helps to see the differences. We are counting on the Miele track record stated in this forum. Because it is counter depth, we know we will only have fresh items--within view. We decided on refrigerator drawers in our island to off load our fridge of drinks and such.

I didn't see this thread until now but I don't know if it would have changed my mind or not. I am in the midst of a high end kitchen renovation and was agonizing about this decision for a while; I did decide on the counter depth Bosch as it is 1/4 of the price of the SZ. It DOES have 2 compressors which was a selling point for me (vs the SZ which has the 2 compressors). I like that Bosch has the split shelves, the door shelves that accomodate gallon containers, the programable produce drawers, the larger freezer, and the French doors vs the single door in the SZ. I got rid of my 25 year old SZ that hasn't been in good shape for over 5 years (with produce spoiling quickly, etc). Ironically my extra 25 year old Kitchen Aid fridge that I keep in the garage still operates well and better than the 25 year old SZ did, but you can't get Kitchen Aids like that any more. Additionally, all the contractors do not think highly of SZ at this point. I don't have my Bosch long enough to comment about the alarm or reliability at this point.

One Bosch dishwasher delayed, but the fisher & paykel arrived. One 48" Wolf dual fuel range MIA. It was "available" a month ago so the mystery continues as a regional distributor started emptying its warehouse. Both Subzero columns arrived along w Wolf micro, speed oven & hood. Recently retired our 14 year old Bosch DW and its a fav of most of our clients so may be worth the wait. People feel the same re Wolf.
