Planted out my last jug tonight
Comments (9)There were about a dozen tiny seedlings (cotyledon or first leaf stage) of primula and I got tired of waiting for them to grow. I dug a big whole and stuck them in but it was an exercise in futility- one of my many creatures of the night dug them out and only 2 remain. I'm sick of this! Take heart though, Bakemom, it's storming here now. Half an hour ago the temp dropped about 20 degrees, it got windy, and started to pour rain. We have a severe thunderstorm warning now. It's heading your way. Finally! Karen...See MoreElectricity was out for 5 hours tonight.
Comments (6)Something apparently malfunctioned. DH guesses a transformer. They were repairing it for hours. We went out for a leisurely dinner, and when we got back, they got the power on for 30 seconds a few times and then it blew again. Then it would come on a half hour or so later and blow yet again. Glad it was finally fixed. Yes, I always think of our ancestors pre electrical power when we have to do without. I also think of our ancestors when I fly and look down at the western mountains and think of their hardships walking beside their conestoga wagons across our nation to settle the West....See MoreHanding out homemade goodies tonight?
Comments (12)I would give them out just to kids I knew....and would be sure to have my name on them... But even if the kids can't or don't eat them....they are "cute" and may enjoy them that way. But...I have seem the mish mosh that comes out of the Treat bag....complete with broken cookies reduced to crumbs, smashed cupcakes, popcorn balls that have been jostled to the point of crumbs and all thew rapped little baggies of candy corn peanuts and pumpkin candy were scattered among the cookie crumbs. That's why I buy packaged candy. But the thought is really cute....See MoreBe sure to check out the moon tonight
Comments (13)I read this on another site last night: December 12 Â The Full Cold Moon Sky watchers will be dazzled by an exceptionally high, bright, and large Moon. In fact, this Moon is 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full Moons this year. Why? The Moon is both in its full phase and at a point in its orbit that is nearest Earth, called its perigee. When these events occur together, the Moon is closer to Earth than usual. The effect? The Full Cold Moon will appear especially large near the horizon as the Sun sets. The Moon is also high at this time of year; when it's overhead (near midnight), it will light up the landscape. Take a magical stroll and see your world at night. You won't need a flashlight! (farmer's almanac) I think I may go for a midnight walk tonight ;-) Patti Here is a link that might be useful: When the moon hits your eye like a bigga pizza pie ........See MoreDolly
