Lady Luck - picture Plant description??
Comments (3)If you google "help me find/roses", it will give you the HMF web site, where you can look up any one of thousands of roses, and see what type they are, see pictures, etc. HMF says that this is a hybrid tea from 1956. What this means, in general, is that the bush will be medium tall and skinny, and might be prone to black spot or mildew if you do not spray it with chemicals all of the time. If you let us know where generally you are, gardeners from that area on here will be able to tell you if they grow this rose, and how it does in your area. Jackie...See Moregood luck, Dweeb
Comments (30)Gloria: Bubbler izzzzzzz. . .bubbling! The cuttings are getting nubs, most have at least one little hair root. A couple are being cranky about rooting, but there are nubs there. What is most amazing - even the ones without roots - they're putting on itsy bitsy leaves. Most have little "sprouts" of leaves on the top, maybe 4-5, some 7. So even without the root system they're able to absorb through the stalk, etc. to sustain and put leaves on. Karyn said not to take those off, so I'm leaving those. But they're even trying to put leaves on BELOW the water line. Those I pinch off and remove. I'm waiting for the Anti-Stress so I can coat them. Trying to find some "B1" - not Miracle Gro transplant helper. That actually has a fertilizer in it and not sure that even a tiny splash of that is good for them. Trying to keep in mind, this isn't to accelerate them, this is to maintain them so they're healthy for next year planting. The goal is NOT to push them - and I have to keep telling myself that....See MoreLady Luck
Comments (1)You should most definitely have an IRA! and if you fall within the income guidelines I would urge you to set up a ROTH IRA. These are funded with income that's already been taxed and so, will grow and be available to you TAX FREE. The allowable contribution is 4K for 2005 ($4500 if you're over 50 and take advantage of the "geezer provision"). If you prefer, you can contribute to a regular IRA (same amounts) and take a deduction on your taxes... but you will be taxed on the withdrawals required when you attain retirement age. There are other benefits to ROTHS, I suggest you search and read all about them. If you use an accountant he will be able to suggest other things you can do to salt away money for your retirement. But don't wait to do this! it's easy to do and you will be amazed at how the money will begin to accumulate and begin compounding... and compounding is the key to really savvy investing and saving!...See MoreLady Luck & My New (to me) Bar Cart
Comments (33)Today began the sawing out of my concrete slab in the basement because the builder put in 3 2x6s instead of a metal support pole in one location. Yes, we caught it way back when...we were told "not to worry about it". However when the 2x6s started to bow one of the "good guys" nearly died this winter when he saw it. So, being that my nerves are as frazzled as they possibly can be at this point in the day (imagine the fire alarms going off because of gas powered saw and all the fumes) along with all the banging, etc....so, I'll be having something later from that bar cart. Neat. No diluting necessary. I feel like Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies..."I need my nerve medicine"...See More- 7 years ago
