Dont you think that if they had left the machine alone it would still be fine today, other than the plastic squeak? I know as I said before that the old Calypsos had this type hanging system(and possibly GE) and I have heard the Calypso make the squeak and creak noise. As I told you before I hate to have something new with a "flaw" but I have also felt that sometimes I was too picky and would convince myself I needed to get it checked out only to be sicker(& madder)after service. A car for example, have a small rattle, carry in for service, they take half the car apart to fix it, then when you start home you no longer have that rattle, you have three more to go with it where they took things apart--now that is my luck--and I am thinking"Why on earth didnt I live with one small rattle but it is too late to back up then". Just go forward from here and I think I would try another one like you have. It seems like a great washer and you know that the LG made F/L didnt last you very long so maybe this next one will?. OH and about Sears using Electolux now instead of LG for front-loaders, I have always been told it depends on who bid the cheapest to build them. Not sure if that is true but I have heard that. Maybe you need to start looking for the 57 Lady Kenmore!

Suburbanmd, I actually did run his shirt through 3 sanitize cycles, so maybe it is the soap. Strange thing, on the 10 year old now broken machine, I only used warm/cold setting & FS. Perhaps the FS was masking the smell. Also, we have a recirculating hot water pump that was running, so basically it has instant hot water. Plus, the utility room is the first stop in the hot water loop. I can also verify this, as I just could not resist the temptation to put my hand in the flow of the water to test its temp. I have a load of linens to do tonight or tomorrow that I will do with the Kirkland HE liquid I have on hand and just let the machine do its thing as you say. The linens are not really that soiled, just one night stay by a guest, but still it will be interesting to see how it does and to check the soap level. Janet, it is ironic you mention your model number, as when the delivery folks first delivered my machine and placed it, husband looked at it and said it was not the right one. Turns out it was the WM2016CW! What I do not understand is why of all the models they took the water plus feature out of my chosen model. Do you find that the towels are actually in any water in the drum or have they absorbed it all? Mine has so very little you have to hunt for it and move them over just to find the frog puddle. Maybe this is quite normal for FL machines and being my first, I am used to the concept of water in a wash. I am still concerned about how it will do on the dog blankets and dog hair. How can it rinse the hair out when there is hardly any water? Only trial will tell. Oh, and yesterday it started leaking slightly from the front left hand corner! I wiped up water several times including when I first got up, and no, the only high water time was when it did the error code while wildly filling. I have read that over sudsing can cause leaks, so maybe this high water level reached that point? Then again, it might be something else. Do any of the FL machines actually spray the clothes to rinse them while they are spinning, much like the TL do? It seems like this would add a lot to rinsing the clothes. Thanks, Schutzhund

I bought a Maytag Neptune stacking washer/dryer about 6 years ago, and it is the worst piece of **** you could ever want. It was wonderful at first, but then I put it in storage for about a year. When I took it back out, after returning to college (at 35) it worked for awhile. But two weeks short of 5 years, the whole thing stopped working. You'd press the button to turn it on, and it would immediately turn off. After calling Maytag's service, I was assured that the problem was covered under a "five year electronics warranty." I was told that all I needed to do was provide proof of purchase, and Maytag would fix it. I was transferred to someone else who also assured me that it would be covered, and this person told me to call service back on Monday. When I called back the following week, I was told that my repair wasn't covered. I was transferred to another person who told me that it WAS covered. Then I was transferred to someone else who said it wasn't, and others who said it was. Eventually I was transferred to a supervisor who actually YELLED at me on the phone...a call that lasted 2-1/2 hours. She told me multiple times that MAYTAG WOULD NOT ASSIST, and referred me to my documentation. I told her that I didn't have it, and that I was a student and it was 3 hours away in storage. She yelled at me again, and told me MAYTAG WILL NOT ASSIST. What a witch! I also told them that I was working my way through school it the kitchen/bath/flooring/appliance departments at Home Depot. I told them that I could tell my customers about the horrible customer service that I was receiving from Maytag. They didn't care. Did I also mention that I got the service number from a sticker on the side of my Neptune...it said "Maytag Neptune owners are entitled to PriorityOne service." I thought my $2000 purchase entitled me to a little better treatment than I was receiving, but I was WRONG. I was told by the next agent that PriorityOne service was only good for the first year. Funny, I didn't see a time limit on the sticker. Oh yeah, and I was back in school after being a technical/customer service trainer at Apple Computer's call center in Austin, and was getting my MBA with a focus in customer service. I used my experience with Maytag every opportunity I could in my classes as an example of BAD customer service. Anyway. I'm looking at an LG washer/dryer, and was trying to find out if it's worth the money. I will NEVER buy Maytag again (that's okay, I was told by a regional sales rep for Maytag that they really don't care if they upset a customer, because customers are upset by other companies and they'll come back to Maytag...pathetic). Maytag was sued over the control board problem, but they only covered part of my repair. That's okay, it broke with the same problem 6 months later. It's still broken, and I bought a cheap washer to sit next to it. What a piece of crap! Thanks for the info on the LG. ...

I cant tell you on a Bosch, but I just watched the repairman disassemble annd replace the control panel and computer on my dryer -- a whirlpool. He was telling me that others had screws on the back that let you remove that console, but on this particular one (the Senseon that was sold with the Calypso about 7 yrs ago), there are metal tabs that loop down from the top and insert into the base of the dryer -- a spring action clip. Both of them fell into the dryer when he took it off, but he was abel to get them back with needle nose pliers. On the washer, there is a hidden screw underneath the logo strip on the front of the washer that hase to be loosened to get into the machine. I know neither of these are your machine, but maybe they'll help you have ideas about where to look. Good luck!
