Creeping charlie nightmare

Hello - I have a new(er) bed that extends along my fence line. The fence is chain link and I am having a tough time trying to keep weeds at bay in the front and back of the bed. Last year, I put cardboard underneath the chain link fence to inhibit weeds from creeping in from the other side. It worked OK but I need a better solution. I'm wondering if anyone has some natural solutions for me. I thought about planting a vigorous creeper along the entire back of the bed, to maybe choke out the creeping charlie but I don't know what will be a worthwhile opponent against it! I can work on an edge for the front to keep the weeds under control, but the back (right underneath the fence) is what appears to be the bigger problem now.

thanks in advance!
