Organic essential oils for hom and garden/sylviatexas
Comments (5)I just noted that I wrote I wasnt putting a essential oil recipe in there for cleaning wooden floors, but there is one in there. Note though, that I havent ever used that recipe as I dont have wood floors, so I cant 100% say it wont take the shine off. If you want to try it, just do a test spot in a hidden area. Also, I dont know if I can give people my e-mail address if they want a printable version of this? Or my environmental group on myspace? Can I? Will someone please tell me so that I can put this info down if someone wants me to send them out a printable copy? Oh, and sorry it took me so long to get this up online sylviatexas! Thanks, sammie...See MoreChit Chat
Comments (32)Jeanie, there actually is a biting gnat that we used to have in the Sacramento Valley. It was a seasonal thing, and used to drive people crazy. They'd get in your hair, and ears, and everywhere. When I had to work outside, which was almost daily, I used to tie on a kerchief that was sprayed with DEET to try to keep them off my head. After nearly 3 years of fighting the mosquitos (there was a t-shirt with a huge mosquito and the logo 'official Colusa Co, bird' on it) and the biting gnats, I became so sensitive to DEET that I can't use anything at all that contains even a tiny bit of it. It makes me instantly and horribly ill. Maybe I can do some searching and find out what they actually are. I had wondered if they were around here this year, and had hoped they were not. Comments (16)Tina- Yeah, it seems like a good office that I go to! They're very busy; young & old people coming and going. Yeah, they have me doing a half-dozen exercises. A couple are with bands. * One is arms stiff out in front of me, bringing wrists down to hip, and finishing with a "squeeze" between the shoulder-blades. The TRICKY part is to do the last few inches WITHOUT using the actual shoulder muscles much...but trying to isolate the squeeze to just between the blades...tricky!! * The other "band" ex. is- Elbows in front of me, with palms facing me. Forearm/upper-arm angle = 90deg. Now, arms are rotated outwards/back, so palms are facing your ears at the finish. Viewed from the back, it looks like you're making the letter "W". Again, the tricky part is to keep the shoulders "Low & quiet", and just squeezing the S-blades together. * There's some "Floor" ex's. for balance & hip strength thru the back. A couple use a balance-ball. Overall, I'm SO glad I went thru this!! One of the Techs is a smaller young Woman. When She gets into working some of the smaller R/C-muscles/tendons at a deeper level though....%@**UWY&(#...it hurts! Today...they went a little deeper, per the Chiro's orders....Oh joy....! It's helping though!! At least I can "comfortably tolerate" some of the massages that used to damn-near make me scream! The muscles now seem softer and more pliable when they're working on me. Comments (32)An accident of this sort can range from bruised scalp to a cut throat. It all depends, and folks, there are a lot of 'depends'. For one thing, many posters above are assuming they know what kind of glass was in the windshield. We don't know this. The make and model of the car was not identified. We don't know if the car was new or old at the time of the accident. We don't even know ths size of the window or its elevation in relation to the person's body. Some old time cars had small windshields so high up that a short person had trouble viewing the road. Its a fairly safe assumption there were no seat belts. For example, the year could have been 1939 and she was in a 10 yr old car. That could have been a Model A Ford. I'm not sure what kind of glass the Model A had, (I owned one a long time ago) but I do not believe it was 'safety glass', the type that is two pieces of glass laminated together with a polymer film. Laminated safety glass is supposed to be heat treated in such a manner so that on impact, it shatters into little bits and does not produce long shards. The polymer film holds things together, stretches, and reduces (not prevents in all cases) the possibility of sticking a head all the way through and getting cuts in bad places. Well, that's what its supposed to do - t'aint always so. In 1965, the company I worked for occupied a new office building and the rear glass doors were supposed to have been treated to break into tiny bits. One evening, a friend of mine was leaving the building with a group when someone distracted him. He turned and kept up a brisk pace. He thought the door was held open by the fellow in front of him, It wasn't. He turned his head forward just in time to bang into the glass. It broke. Large shards of glass, some 2 to 3 ft long, fell around him. Miracously, he got only a bump on the head and a small cut with shards of glass surrounding him. Wasn't supposed to happen, BUT IT DID. He was one lucky fellow. Naturally, there followed an investigation with the supplier, installer, and insurnace company with a lot of finger-pointing. There was a goof-up somewhere. So, was it possible that she went though the windshield without a lasting facial blemish? Yeah, but the likelyhood of other scenarios are more common. From what scraps of information I got from the original post, it seems that her entire body launched through the windshield and ended up somewhere out outside of the vehicle. That is possible. I have first hand knowledge of such a case. In this case, the car went into a ditch, struck a culvert and instantly stopped. He went through the windshield flying much like Superman, and nailed a very stong post. He never came out of the coma and died weeks later....See MorePKponder TX Z7B
