My husband built new bookcases and cabinets on either side of the fireplace and we got ride of the old entertainment center. All of the sound equipment went into the cabinets and the T.V. was moved downstairs (we hardly ever watch T.V. so we don't miss it in the living room anyway). This week's project is putting up all new crown molding in the living room and dining room - I'll post pictures when we're done with that part. It's shaping up nicely. BEFORE: AFTER:

Since we have so many oaks surrounding us, he has trouble growing roses, so he planted knock out roses in pots and carries them around following the sun...LOL Nancy, where our pond is now we had a small swimming pool it was small 12' x 20' ... we decides to remove it after the kids grew up, so naturally a pond was in order. the system is a DIY bottom drain gravity fed system, complete with a 200 gallon biological pond that helps keep the main pond clear. Yes, you can order just the headboard and use a heavy duty bed frame. That's what I did with the Charles P Rogers iron bed in my guest room. I love the look of the footboard but didn't have much space. Brass Beds of Virginia also offers a low footboard for its iron beds. I like that option better than no footboard because I think the interlocking frame makes for a more sturdy bed. If you go to their website and click on a bed you like you might be able to see an illustration of what the low footboard option would look like.

does it need to touch other bookcases, be in one row with them, as if in a library..or will it be in a different spot? if second-I'd choose a completely different finish..say painted not stained if first-I'd look for the similar bookcase in a different store..maybe even second hand. or maybe try to search Craigslist/other resouces for exactly same one(you can search by brand there), or for one similar, but not exactly matching. pics would help
