I would look at something from Tommy Bahama, Stanley, or Lexington since it is your money and they all have gorgeous traditional sets that have a tropical vacation home feel. These are the listing photos from the prior owner. The room is empty and I'm looking for help. In the dining room all I have is a table. I really like this Robin Bruce sofa that a local store has but I was thinking Navy. My husband thinks that is too dark in the room and also not practical with the dog. But I'm really wanting advice on furniture placement/arrangement. Would you do 2 sofas facing each other and tv over fp or put a console on long wall with tv?

We are undecided on the TV. I dont use it and he can watch in the basement area. But, if it means we won't hang out in the living room then we'd probably get a second TV. Our current one is going in the basement. Are these accurate depictions of your layouts? Reading again... I think I flipped one bc I think it flows better to have room open to dining rather than open to door. I had not considered TV on the staircase wall and am curious how that would actually look. I think art choices will come after we get the yes/no TV thing figured out but definitely curious what going big in this space would look like (like art that is large in size? or attention grabbing? big above fireplace or on opposing wall? etc.)

Is any of the furniture staying? It looks as though you have the bulkier (white) chairs as you enter the room. Have you tried switching them? That might give entry room by the couch and fireplace.
