I love that you brought out the center part and gave it more depth. chick, I have that saved in my inspiration file. I haven't figured out how to do it with the arched window but I'd LOVE LOVE to have something that gorgeous in the space. brush, I'd like a tilt out or pullout hamper but haven't figured out a good space for it. Ideally, I'd like not to have a hamper in the bathroom but realistically that's where it goes. suero, do you have any examples of what you mean? I've seen the wall mount but they seem to stick out so far and don't really look "clean". They don't even measure 30" high. I've considered going to kitchen height cabinets. You make a very good point about the load bearing studs. I hadn't thought that far. My luck would prove to have a stud in the way. I've wondered about the drawer/door sink bases but wasn't sure how they worked with a sink being centered? And do they have to be centered? jeannie, honestly the bench is for pure laziness. We currently have a wicker bench in the bathroom and it's been wonderful to sit on. I thought it'd be nice to be able to retain some sort of seating besides the toilet. I had not thought of doing a built-in bench with storage! That would be added benefit. I hope the cabinets/linen storage in the water closet will be able to hold additional cabinet stuff. It's going to be at least 12" deep and 36" wide. Not the biggest but what I have to work with space wise. I've never had a make up area and have always just sat on the vanity to apply my make up. I don't wear much and only takes a couple minutes so I fear it would be a wasted space and only added for potential resale value. prickly, I've considered the tall cabinet option too. I flip flop back and forth. I'd love the hidden hamper and more storage is never a bad thing. It is only the two of us and we don't have to much laundry. DH actually leaves his dirty clothing in the laundry room most of the time. I had contemplated putting a train rack towel holder about the bench. Only reason I drew it with the 24" door is because our bathroom door is only 24". I thought maybe they should match? It can easily be changed. And I do agree the 24" work but feels tight at times. I too love the pivot mirrors. I have one rectangular one I've been holding on to for some time thinking I'd find it's match but think it's a lost cause. Dad bought it at Lowes 5-6 years ago. The other thing that has me stumped is where to place towels and robes?

I've been under the weather for the last few days, so wasn't able to act on any of the additional suggestions until today. Thank you so much to everyone for the feedback, pointing out both the good and the bad. Today I moved a few things around. I decided to concentrate my efforts of lighting, as I think this will help us to enjoy the room more. The new additions are just stand ins, while I look for the right lamps and plants etc. I will also look for better wall art by the love seat and go to Benjamin Moore to look for a warm neutral that's lighter for the walls. I also liked the suggestions to replace the several small accessories with larger ones. And also to try to incorporate the window seat into the room more somehow. I was thinking of trying more colorful cushions on it, to tie it in and make the eye travel back there more. I will keep the points about the tables in mind for when it's time to look at new furniture. Thank you again so much! I feel so much better about this room already! I will start a new thread if/when I have specific questions about lamps or pillows. Thank you!!

If I'm right that what I am seeing in the photo is a lot of little kid toys in the room I suggest you use the bay window for a toy storage unit to somewhat block it off for protection. Don't put seating at the windows that would tempt small kids to stand on it and lose their balance. Don't put lamps that could get knocked over. It can still look very nice and orderly. In this rendition you see. one 80" TV in an entertainment center with storage for media, toys, Toys containers in the cubbies and extra padded seating, on the bench between the two cabinets with drawers, for conversation. One 2-to-3-seater couch 4 swivel chairs 3 small round side table - black Two floor lamps on either side of the entertainment center One 10' by 10' area rug One large wall mirror to reflect natural light back into the room from the sliding glass doors. One entry table with a mirror over it and a plant. An extra place to put snacks for guests. One large, padded leather ottoman with storage for toys, blankets and so on but it can also be used for additional seating for guests. One long couch table with storage baskets underneath for toys, etc. for the children. More to come. Hope this helps. Just another view from a different angle. In this one you can see the storage bins/baskets under the couch table and in the entertainment center. You can also see two battery powered lamps. That is unless you can install a floor plug. We did that in our great room in three locations for holidays, lamps and so on. It has been really helpful, rather than having to drag an extension cord across the room.
