hey .. i have to keep you reaching ... don't rest on your laurels now .... as you get more proficient with the stuff you just learned.... the other stuff will come more easily ... just keep in mind.. its a computer.. and you can fool around with pix in your editor.. and AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT SAVE ... nothing will happen to the image in the memory .... one trick ... say you are working on picture 001 ..... play with it.. and then SAVE AS 001a ... then 001b .... until you get one you like ..... that way you never lose your original image ... then try to remember to go back and delete all the extra images you don't need.. no need to clog up those memory cells with duplicates .... and finally .... you may be able to adjust the camera .... regardless .. its not like you have to pay to develop the pix ... so just play around.. 5 mins every day .... i have found that if you try to spend hours.. you get confused and overwhelmed ... and if you play for 10 minutes.. then go away .. the next day you will want to play for 15 .... make it fun.. not a job... and keep in mind.. that my replies are not just for you .... i will bet another hosta .. there are a handful of people who are as afraid as you were... and frankly .. if you can do it... they can too .... if they just get past the fear ... keep up the good work ken

A SPST (single pole single throw, or plain on-off) switch normally has only 2 terminals. How the NO (normally open) terminal aligns with the switch position depends on the switch's internal geometry. It won't necessarily be the terminal under the depressed side. You should be able to figure out which terminal is which by tracing the wiring of the heater. A SPDT (single pole double throw) switch would have 3 terminals, but there'd be no reason for the manufacturer to use one in your heater. Not that I've never seen it done (with the 3rd terminal left unused), but in this case, since your switch has a lighted handle, the third terminal is for the neutral return of the internal pilot light. Most likely (but not absolutely certainly) the pilot light is a neon bulb. One side will be internally connected to the load terminal. The other side will be connected to the third (neutral) terminal. One side or the other will have a small resistor in series to limit the current through the bulb. You should read essentially infinite resistance across this bulb and resistor, because your ohmmeter doesn't produce the ~90vdc needed to pass a current through a neon bulb. If the pilot light is an LED, which is possible but less likely, the ohmmeter may or may not read a resistance across it, It depends on the voltage your meter presents at its test leads, and the forward voltage of the LED. If your meter has a diode test position, you can use that to test an LED. It should read some lowish voltage (probably around 2 to 2.5v) in one direction, and zero if you reverse the test leads. To answer your question, as I said above, IF that's the load terminal, it should read continuity with the line terminal only when the switch is in the on position.

Sorry to digress back to sand but I am probably guilty of using U.K. definitions when most of you use US terms. Here in the U.K. we can buy...... horticultural grit also called alpine grit, small stones, no sand, similar product to aquarium substrate, around 5mm in size horticultural sand or sharp sand, coarse grained sand for adding to potting mixes, no stones just bigger particles concreting sand, basically a medium grade sand with added larger grains for, well, making concrete! for paths etc etc building sand, smooth finer grade sands for bricklaying, pointing and smooth ‘trowelled’ work play sand, is bleached fine sand paving sand, very fine grained for brushing into paviour joints sorry to confuse the issue even more!
