Help me decide paint colours!!!
Hi there!
I have a very awkward mis-matched house and we want to paint the bottom render and garage door, picket fence and the old wooden fence you can see slightly to the left. I'm at a loss. The top colour of the extension turned out with really blue undertones so i don't want to use that. I'm thinking a warm light grey for the render, darker for the garage door, white pickets but have no idea about the old fence. HELP!! I am happy to repaint the extension and the brick if need be. The old wooden fence that returns is a gate and we will be replacing that bit with white pickets as well i think? The painted brick to the right hand side of the red brick is the neighbours house - it is attached to ours.

It seems like we are/were thinking along the same "lines" There is a lot of oak wood in the space between a bay window, French patio doors, kitchen window, front door, garage entrance door, and a stairway. We are adding hickory medium-toned stained hardwood floors to the now combined kitchen, dining area, and original living room. All wood cabs just seemed claustrophobic to me too...all dove white cabs I struggled with due to no other painted white surfaces. DH REFUSED to consider painting the woodwork so I am stuck with tying-in oak trim. I have not given up hope of getting him to agree to dove white pained spindles and wood banisters...it is a long shot! The space is not huge. Comments (3)Yes, keep a look out for that pretty gray/silver wood tone end table(s) and certain glasstop or fretwork accents too/ coffee tables perhaps? Other wood/ironwork colors will work too, so your room looks as it has evolved over time ! You have a wide variety of tones and hues that will be very complimentary with your current cabinets and carpet and couches. Comments (5)No accent walls. You have an open space that should be one wall color. Any of the greens would be perfect for the island and for accessories like pillows and throws. Test them out though- in particular Sea salt can look gray, blue, or green depending on lighting....See MoreLiz Pen
5 years ago@apple_pie_order what I like and what I think will tie all the elements in are two different things. I think there will be an element of compromise to try and get it to work. Originally I was going for dark old fence, dark extension, dark all along the bottom render and garage door and white pickets. But with that big rendered wall I think it will be too much. So then I thought something like these photos below. But I still don't know what to do with the wooden fence.
The vertical structure is a council verge that I have been trying to get them to landscape for ages!
