Anyone has experience in ordering through Elite?
Comments (6)Snowcat: Our furniture arrived this morning from Elite Furniture. Everything is perfect!!! I got a call last week from someone at Elite that the furniture would be here this week and she said she would call again this week to give me a firm date and time. She called yesterday and told me the truck would be here between 8am and noon today. A big "Hancock Transport" truck arrived about 10:30am. The guys were very pleasant. They were careful while un-crating the furniture and equally careful bringing it into the house. I felt as though I was "holding my breath" as they unpacked the furniture. I checked all the drawers and doors. I tried to check everything I could think of while they were still here. Everything looks perfect. Overall, I have to give Elite a 10 out of 10 points. They delivered in about 7 weeks when they said it would be 8-12 weeks. Their price was better than anyone we called or checked with locally. They were careful with the delivery of our new furniture. I recommend them! Good luck. Judy...See MoreHas anyone ordered from Urbanhomestyle.com?
Comments (22)HEADS UP ON COMFORTSOURCE.COM......NOW OPERATING UNDER THE NAME COMFORTSOURCE.NET. I ORDERED A SLIP COVERED SOFA AND I LOVE IT ..!! BUT.....I DIDNT RECIEVE THE CORRECT PILLOWS. I CONTACTED THEM IMMEDIATELY AT WHICH TIME THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULD BE RECIEVING THEM THE WEEK AFTER JULY 4TH. WELL, A MONTH AND A HALF LATER I STILL HAD NOT RECIEVED THEM. SO I SENT MY FIRST EMAIL. AND THIS IS THE RESPONSE I RECIEVED. ( I CUT AND PASTED THIS FROM THE ORIGINAL EMAIL.) "Crista these companies carry this product. http://www.nantuckit.com/slipcovered.html http://www.cottagehomemaine.com/slipcovered.html?gclid=CJjIttyOiZUCFReSQAodpQXtqA " THAT WAS IT...NOTHING MORE....SO, OF COURSE I SENT ANOTHER ONE. AT WHICH TIME I RECIEVED THIS RESPONSE: "I am afraid we will not have the pillow, but maybe the others can help." AGAIN, THAT WAS THE COMPLETE EMAIL. WHY WOULD I CONTACT ANOTHER COMPANY WHEN I PAID FOR MY ITEM FROM THEM..???!! BY THIS TIME I AM VERY ANGRY. SO I HAVE SENT 2 MORE EMAILS. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD "CLOSED THE DOORS." HOWEVER, I HAVE SEARCHED ONLINE AND HAVE REALIZED THAT THEY ARE NOW OPERATIONG WITH THE WEBSITE: WWW.COMFORTSOURCE.NET INSTEAD OF .COM . HOW CAN THEY LEGALLY DO THIS? IS THERE ANYTHING WE CAN DO? I TOLD THEM THAT I WOULD BE TAKING LEGAL ACTION IF THEY CONTINUED TO IGNORE THE FACT THAT THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING SURE THAT I RECIEVE THE CORRECT ORDER. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL EMAIL STATING THE FABRICS I ORDERED. (WHICH I DID NOT RECIEVE.) I AM GOING TO CONTACT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU TODAY. CAN WE FILE AGINST THEM EVEN IF THEY ARE OPERATING UNDER ANOTHER NAME? I EVEN LOOKED THORUGH THE WEBSITE AND ADDED ITEMS TO MY "CART" TO SEE IF THEY ARE TAKING ORDERS....AND THEY ARE. HOWEVER,THEY DO NOT CARRY SLIPCOVERED FURNITURE ANY LONGER IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT....CONTACT ME. BUYER BEWARE..!!!...See MoreHas anyone ordered furniture from Home Decorators?
Comments (10)I've ordered bookcases from them--several of the folding and stacking ones with the mantel top and one other (can't remember the name of it). The folding ones are easy--just open the sides and the shelves fall into place. They are sturdy enough to hold lots of books. I've moved a few times since I got them and they are still going strong. The other bookcase required assembly. The instructions were clear, easy to read and follow. The bookcase has a small drawer on the bottom--I've had problems before with assemble-it-yourself furniture with drawers--the drawers aren't level or they stick. This drawer is very smooth opening and closing. It's not top of the line furniture, but it does hold up well, I think. I basically needed lots of storage for books and DVDs at not too high a price and with reasonably good looking furniture and that's what I got....See MoreHas anyone done furniture projects recently?
Comments (27)Thank you so much Lucille, I appreciate that!! I guess with the bottom, I got off pretty easy because as you can see, it was in reasonably good condition. I just sanded down the original white paint, first with a medium grain paper and then with a really fine paper so everything was good and smooth. I didn’t worry about stripping it because I was going to be using white again. That Behr color is the same color we used for all of our trim and doors and I love it! It’s a very soft and creamy white, so when I found that cabinet, I paid the consigment store to repaint it and requested they use the same color. (They had done a crackle treatment on it that was nothing short of hideous). I love the shabby worn out look but didn’t know if it was right for the room. I went solid first knowing I could sand down the paint here and there if I wanted to age it a bit, but when it was finished I was smitten with it just as it was. Then I went on a chair hunt and found these and thought they were perfect. (Their seats are walnut and the white is a perfect match to the table) I think going with the white bottom would be really lovely with the cherry wood top especially when you consider how much poly work redoing the bottom would take. If you were going for a color that leaned more towards vintage, like a teal or worn red, using one of the specialty paints would make sense, but for white, unless you want that old worn look, I really don’t think it’s necessary, if anything, I’ve found that the latex wears better especially with the table. (It’s a semi gloss and easy to clean) I ended up doing the top of our table a couple of times because I didn’t care for the stain I had used. I also had a couple of poly spots that I didn’t like. For those I used some steel wool to get the spot out of the poly and then I polyed back over it but I didn’t mix it with anything I just used straight non yellowing poly. It’s all trial and error, right? Also, you’re probably already aware but I’ll throw it out there anyways, cherry wood darkens over time, so in the beginning, you should avoid keeping any kind of runner or mat on it for longer periods of time or you’ll have a permenant reminder of them being there. :c)...See MoreCorinne Masterson
