Has anyone done furniture projects recently?

I thought I would just use TV tables but although they are nice I missed having a dining table. Was looking through the local Next Door ads for one and found a project dining table and bought it: one leg had come off and attempts to put it back on were not done well and I think she was just tired of fooling with it.

The seller is an interesting person, she refinishes furniture and sells it but I don't think she knows a lot about furniture repair. She (or someone) used a plastic wall anchor instead of the zinc or brass products made for furniture.

After researching I think it needed a longer bolt, so I ordered one.

Once it is fixed I have to either sand and refinish the top with polyurethane (getting a perfect poly finish has always been a challenge for me) or use chalk/mineral or other paint. (I didn't even know there was a mineral paint until I started looking at recent paint pictures).

The table is a heavy solid cherry.

Have you done any furniture projects lately, how did they turn out?
