replace with matching water faucet/soap dispenser now?
Comments (7)Taggie: hahahaa. Yes, I think he would notice, because he would be the one installing them. âÂÂswitch the top part in for the stainless one and not mention a word about it. Don't know how observant your DH is, but mine would never notice itâ But you know, the water filter faucet is starting to leak a little (wink wink wink)â¦especially when I bang it w/ my big metal pan!!! Hahahaa Breezygirl: oh, IâÂÂm way past year 2012 birthday and anniversary already. My 4 girlfriends and I are heading to South Beach for our birthday celebration next month. For our anniversary, I got my beloved Vitamix Blender (oh how romantic). Christmas 2013 present = IâÂÂm getting the Blum Servo for the hands-free trash pullout. As for the handles: funny you mentioned it. Our friend came to help install them this morning. He didnâÂÂt have enough time to do them all, but he strategically did not do any of the uppers so that he didnâÂÂt have to fight me on installing them horizontally. I didn't mention that I hate wasting stuff. Yes, I can Freecycle them, but...still wasteful. thanks, Amanda...See Morewill a faucet, hot water, & soap dispenser work with these sinks?
Comments (6)I got mine at Faucet Depot. I priced them, made a list of what I wanted and then called. I asked the their best price on the phone, not just for the sink but for each grid, colander, faucet and soap dispenser, then asked if they would take any more off if I purchased all of it from them, and they did. They were just awesome. I paid about 1200.00 I think for all of it, including the sink, all grids, colander, Brizo Floriano faucet and soap dispenser, as well as a few other misc. items. It arrived quickly with no damage and I was very happy with the entire transaction. I would definitely only go credit card these days with anyone, though, due to the economy. You never know who might go under. I keep all the accessories in place all the time. That is just because of my own personal habits. I put most items in the DW and rarely if ever fill the sink to wash. I stack dishes on the grids and water runs freely without blocking the drain. I place bowls, etc. on the grid to do prep and it makes them a comfortable height for working, but peels, etc go through the grid and get washed into the GD. If I need a deeper area, I remove the grid on one side. If I need to wash something really large, I remove both. I use the colander all the time. Small items get placed on it so they don't go down the GD, I use it as a silverware tray, I drain pasta and rinse veggies there, small ones esp. like strawberries, blueberries and other items that would fall between the sink grids. I had a difficult remodel and a place for the washed shot glass I used for the strawberry daiquiri on more than one occasion! :) I have a large cutting board on the counter next to the sink so I didn't need that, but they do have one. Ridiculously expensive. Worse, even than the grids. If your habits are such that you would need somewhere to store the items I would plan for that. All except the bottom grid would fit in a divided cabinet like I have for cookie sheets. You could also use a dish pan, but I was a little worried about giving up my double sink, and I liked the fact that they make an insert that would make it into a double if I really hated not having two sinks later. But then again, I am a girl that likes options. :) I have no problem making a decision if I know I can change my mind later. :) Sue...See Moremore questions on kitchen faucets and water filters...
Comments (5)Soap dispenser should only take one hole. If you're having a separate tap for your filtered water, one hole for that (instant hot can be in same faucet if you go that way). You have to go under the sink to change that filter but you might be able to have it mounted forward in the side of the cabinet to make it less painful. But you might prefer that space open for more frequently used items. Faucet can take up to three (maybe 4?) but you don't want that kind, the one where you have handle in one hole (this is okay), spout in a second hole (also okay), and pullout spray in a third (these, frankly, stink). I think you just have to gamble with splashing. Nobody can predict it. Taller ones will get more speed and splash but lower spouts make a mess when you try to use them. The solution is to get a Tapmaster and keep it on reduced pressure. :)...See MoreTwo hole faucet replacement. Filtered water faucet in extra hole?
Comments (22)Here is my instant hot/filtered cold setup. On the ther side I have a soap dispenser. I added his after the fact in a tweaking of my kitchen (now I am planning a total redo moving the kitchen). I had the hole added to the granite later so I echoed be placement of the existing soap dispenser. It works well as you can get a cup of tea or filtered water while someone else uses the main faucet. The faucet is a Moen Arbor Motionsense which I love (other than than at the handle has come loose a bit they sent a free replacement kit of some sort which I need to fix so far just had my husband tighten it but it worked loose again). I will move both faucets to my new kitchen. I think I will put the hot/filtered at the prep sink in the new as the location makes more sense for tea/water although I also like to use the hot in some cleanup uses...See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
