I have similar windows but mine are not quite as wide (79") and I believe they aren't as high. I currently have "make do" curtains across them until I decide on window treatments. In the primary bedroom (i just can't call it a master at 9 x 12), I am torn between shutters (which I would attach to trim which we'd add) or linen roller shades with curtain panels. I like the idea of panels to soften the small rectangular room but I love the clean look of shutters. In the spare rooms (one is being converted from storage to a dressing room-- the other is in the process of being converted from a spare room to an office), I will do either fabric roller shades or custom shutters. As you can see, I have no trim-- typical modest mid century ranch style. I do plan to put trim around all the bedroom windows. Here's a photo of the short wall (work was still being done at this point-- painting and floor refinishing. I have not yet replaced the hideous closet doors.) I really like this look with blinds.. simple and clean.. nothing to catch dust. But this room has one window with panels and one without. I'd worry that two without would feel cold or institutional.

If you continue the line of the curved, pulled-back curtain up to the ceiling, I think it does make the room look taller. I'm not sure how you would attach the curtain along the sloped ceiling, but I have seen it done. You could then experiment with exactly where to tie the curtain back; if you hung full length drapery, you could tie it back lower. In all cases, however, you need to be certain that curtain will not come too close to the fireplace. For that reason, shades may be a safer choice.

We did a few corner windows for a community in Florida. Here are some pix. We did bottom-up top-down shades as well as roller shades. Though you have no post between the glass panes, the shades will overlap with very little gap.

That would drive me crazy, too! It looks like you look out on a very nice deck, bringing your focus to outdoors. This is an idea you may consider: Creating a fake transom over the patio door to align with the top of the window on that elevation. The frame can be anything even just a thin white frame. Then you can concentrate on the window treatment. What is your style or post your inspiration?
