Help please? Mounting Shower Bar questions
Comments (0)I have rather large shower, about 40" x 54" we are remodeling right now. The plumber is here and we've hit a snag and he doesn't know what to do so here I am. Problem is that one end has a valve and a fixed wall showerhead-fine BUT the other end has a Shower Head on a Bar and the bench is also on that side. He doesn't know where to put the shower "elbow" for the hand held shower and that bar also has a shelf so if we put it on the wall with the corner better bench 30" wide, I am going to have the hose hang down and hit my head on the glass shelf! It is this shower bar http://www.grohecatalog.com/product/28574/ and the better bench 30 that is 21.5 inches into the wall. He already put the new valve in off center to the left, just trying to figure out where to put the shower bar and elbow for the metal hose so he can finish plumbing. Any tips?...See MoreSolid well made hand shower bar and a hand shower head? Your pick?
Comments (3)I wanted my slider bar to be rated as a grab bar. So mine (in two bathrooms) are jaclo. They are so sturdy my contractor joked that when the big earthquake hits, those bars are going to the only thing left standing. (I believe delta also makes one now, but I think I saw a not so great view on here for that one.) One shower has a delta shower head, the other has a hansgrohe. We are happy with both. I chose polished chrome for the finish on everything metal in the bathrooms because it is supposed to be the easiet to match. It all matches nicely despite using different brands....See MoreNeed shower control help!
Comments (7)It looks like you will have glass doors. It looks like the glass door next to the tub will open completely. You can keep the ceiling mounted rain shower heads centered and the hand held shower heads centered or even set off closer to the back shower wall. You can have the main control valves placed nearer to the glass doors so that you open the door/doors and reach inside and turn the shower on without getting wet. From you plan I'm not sure if the shower door next to the vanity will open completely?...See MoreShould the shower controls be centered?
Comments (7)Best ideas: - Choose a one-piece water control ... as flat as possible since your space is small. - Place the control near the shower door so it's easy to reach /not under the shower head. - Do you have any option for expanding this shower size? An adjacent closet? While you're re-doing the bathroom, it'd be nice to grow the shower beyond summer-camp size. - While you're at it, add at least one vertical grab bar by the shower entrance. I wouldn't add horizontal bars because they'd take up too much room in this already-small shower. - Add a large recessed niche for storage....See MoreAllison0704
