Paint Dilemma with North Facing House with little light

Megan Virginia

The fiance thinks I'm going paint crazy and maybe I am. Attached is a rough blue print of my house's 1st level. We had the painter paint the stairwell Passive by SW and we don't like it, in our lighting it looks like a baby boy blue next to our white trim. I figure this is due to the north lighting. I am trying to find a good color for the north and west lighting for the whole floor. However, I am struggling. I would like to if possible have the main living room and stairwell a lighter color and make the kitchen a slightly darker color due to having more light. The pairs that I have are Agreeable Gray/Incredible White, Popular Gray/ Heron Plum. Am I just going crazy, but Popular Gray looks purple, Agreeable looks green, Repose also looks green. Am I just looking for the wrong things, or does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance!
