A 25 x 12' room is a bowling alley unless you divide it into more than one area. First thing I would do is get the TV off the mantel and onto one of the other walls, perhaps the one on the right.

What we really need here is a floor plan with all the entrances and windows marked so we can see what traffic patterns exist in this space.

We originally planned for the TV in this location, we ended up over the mantle because we really couldnt find a way for have more than a couch on the larger wall for seating, we are a family of 4 and our home tends to be the location of gathering events so we wanted more than just 3-4 seats. I don’t have a floor plan however I can say that our layout is pretty standard colonial minus a formal living room. The family room is spans the length of our kitchen and formal dining room. (Not sure that’s of any assistance ha)

Everything I’ve seen about furnishing long narrow rooms such as this are to divide, but I run into the issue of the laundry room and powder room that cannot be blocked as well as the large sunroom entrance which we actually add the doors to help divide the room off from the family room

Another reason I can see for moving your TV off the mantle......a heating stove puts out a lot of heat and with the TV above it, you may be asking for trouble...especially with the lowering arm. I agree with Grover...put the TV in another spot at eye level and I agree that you may have to make two "zones" in that room. A TV zone and a reading, conversation zone. I know working around doorways is not easy.

My struggle is how to make the reading zone/section with the mulple doorways/entrances and the need to have an easy walk way to the bathroom.. :/

By floor plan, I mean a a sketch with numbers. Just draw a rectangle, put in the doors and windows and note the lengths or each section of wall. Also label the doors so we know which is bathroom, laundry, kitchen, and entry and draw it dark enough so we can read it from the photo you take and upload.

OK, let me double check here. Is the room 9.5' wide, or 12' wide? You've drawn and labeled it 9.5', but your original post says 12', and the entrance to the sunroom looks like 12'.

Some possible configurations if the room is 12' wide.

That's good. Cause I didn't know what I was gonna do if it was 9.5. Remember, you need 3' for walk space behind and around furniture. Measure measure measure before you buy anything; better yet, mock up proposed pieces with painters tape on the floor.

We have a similar problem - 12 x 24 living room with windows and doors all over the place, making furniture placement tricky! Ikea's free kitchen design software also has all their living room furniture, lighting, etc, buried in it, and I've used it with much glee to plan furniture layouts for living room, dining room, bedrooms, etc, as it's ridiculously simple to use, and you can fly around in 3D, looking at stuff from different angles. May be a useful too for you and the cat

I like the suggestion from groveraxle to mark out furniture locations with painters' tape. The other thing I've found useful is cardboard boxes - wine boxes are ok, bigger ones are better!

And when you're ready, I love Ben Pentreath's wise suggestion to hire professional movers to shunt your rugs and furniture around for you. You sit back and feel pampered with a glass of wine, while they do all the sweating and grunting, and don't argue with your decisions like family members and good friends do! You may have to wait a couple of weeks for a good team, but when moving "season" calms down you should get lucky.
