my vinyl floor NIGHTMARE! learn from my mistake
Comments (13)Does that really make sense? That this glue can only be used on sheet vinyl but not Peel N Stick (vinyl) tile because it won't dry? Isn't the key word 'VINYL'? Either way you have a solid piece on top of the glue. I would think it would be harder to get it to dry under a huge sheet of vinyl as opposed to tiles. DH didn't use the Roberts stuff but it was vinyl adhesive from Lowe's (I think it was called Henry). I only had like a couple of places that the glue came up on the side a bit and it was when he first started and wasn't sure how much to use. Yes, mineral spirits will take it off! That's what our glue said to use! I just couldn't remember because it's been about 5 years since we did the flooring jobs!...See Moreliving a nightmare right now.
Comments (24)The stairwell is probably the strongest part of the building. Is it in the center or on the outside wall? Get to the lowest point you can. When I went to my cousin's to help clean up after a tornado, I was surprised to see the walls that were still standing were the basement stairwell. I haven't looked at these pictures for a long time. We weren't able to get into the area for several days after the tornado hit. I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone....See MoreMy 1st experience with gardening is turning into a nightmare... HELP!
Comments (4)Thanks for the info. The slimy mud dried out mostly by the next day. When I stuck my finger a couple inches in the soil it just felt cool/damp but not wet so I'm assuming that means it's draining well? When I started the soil was dry like cement as you described. Now it's a more loose & workable. I live on a friend's property, they no longer have horses but do have llamas. She said their poop (which looks like lima beans) makes great fertilizer so I'll gently work some "Llama beans" into the soil in the next week or 2. Somebody pointed out that it sounded like I was "loving" the raspberries to death so I'm going to leave them alone for now and only water them every 2-3 days instead of daily. As far as the peppers go I had no idea about the frost thing. My friend planted her tomatoes the same time as I planted my peppers and her plants are growing no problem.... so maybe over watering is/was part of the problem too? I think I'll just dig up the dead plants and go buy a couple of new ones from Lowe's acclimate them over a whole week instead of only a day and then see how they do once planted. Luckily my strawberry & zucchini plants seem to be holding up ok so I guess that makes my garden only a 50% failure LOL...See MoreOdd shaped Living room- design nightmare!
Comments (5)I do not have any furniture for this room, currently I have two dining room chairs in there so it's not just an empty room- so anything you can imagine in a living room is fair game. I am neutral about having a television in this room. I can always mount one above the fireplace if needed or use a tablet. I plan to use this room as a gathering place for a few friends/family to sit and talk sit. I would also use room to read or relax in my free time. My home was built in the early 1900's the house is pretty traditional. I have very high ceilings (12 ft) and very tall windows (6ft.) Windows are just normal double hung windows. My fireplace is dark Mahogany wood (very similar fireplace photo attached) Stairs are also traditional/colonial- dark hardwood floor on stair treads and white risers. (Very similar Staircase photo attached below- I do not have wainscoting though)...See MoreConstine
