We're updating our kitchen and need new lighting. It's a small galley kitchen and currently has this ugly 3-spotlight fixture with a coordinating one over the sink. Both have to go. Our contractor says we should just get a flush mount fixture to give general ambient lighting rather than spotlights on certain areas. I'm having trouble finding anything I like that will look right in a kitchen and not a bedroom or hallway. Any suggestions?? Over the sink we'll probably just get a simple can light. We will have under cabinet lights. There is also a light in the "walk through" part of the kitchen (just behind where I'm standing to take the picture, the part that you walk through to get to the living room) that will need to coordinate. I'm just struggling with what type of light would look good here. Our new cabinets will be white with light colored counters and whitish or light grayish walls. So much more modern and bright. Ceiling is just 8'. Thanks for any suggestions.
