Need help with area rug (with pics)
Comments (8)Nice choice of rug! Personally, I would purchase an 8X10 rectangular rug, if it will fit lengthwise. part of the rug will go underneath the 2 sofas. Most folks choose to place the rug underneath the front feet of the sofa--you can look through houzz photos to get the idea. Though there are other ideas that would work, though they'll have to come from more creative people. You can use painters tape to tape it off and see what will work....See MoreGoing nuts over a rug - what works here?
Comments (48)6 is Nuloom Farroe Faded lace 4 is Edessa tribal medallion I believe it's also Nuloom 3 is Arabella Faded Crowned Rosette 5 is Waverly rowed diamonds I actually found the Waverly Rowed Diamonds at RugsUSA.Com when I was searching the names for you. I didn't see it any other place. Arabella Fades is on Amazon and other sites. Some of them come in multiple colors so be aware of that. I took them from a file folder so I had to look them up to see they are still out there and they are. This may be to geometric for you, but saw you has some blue/green on your board. This is Jaipur rugs Desert Carcal (it's extremely thin though if you have children it may be a fuss)....See MoreWhat size rug (same rug just bigger)
Comments (3)9x12. We actually have a 10x13 and it makes the room look so much bigger. I know you love your floors but you don't want to show them off at the expense of making the rest of the room look dwarfed. Personally, I'd prefer if the recliner was at least partially on it....sofa partially on, recliner partially on, etc....See MoreHelp with rug size
Comments (5)Hi C.M. your current rug is too small. At. minimum the front legs of both sofas should be on top of the rug. When there is a corner arrangement like you have I prefer that all furniture sit on top of an area rug. This way the interaction between the legs of the end table and rug wont matter. In you case I would eliminate the runner. It is just "floating" there with no relation to anything else. I could see having a runner in the hallway but not where yours is placed. Here are some photos to illustrate what I am talking about. This one has the furniture legs anchoring the front of the rug. You can see the end table to the left of the sofa has a leg on the rug and the rest off This photo shows the furniture completely on the rug as does this one I think based on your picture I would do the latter. Not sure of your overall room size but I am guessing a 9 x 12 rug would accommodate the furniture ....See MoreRelated Professionals
