dressing room/wic reached through master bath ok?
Comments (5)I love the idea of having a wic with a door from the Master Bath. In fact as I was drawing the plans for our house (that is currently being built) this was a feature I considered a "must have". DH and I are rarely on the same schedule and I think it will be great! DH is a night owl and I am a morning person. So he can get completely ready for bed without having to disturb me going in and out of the room/bathroom. And in the morning I can get up go into the bathroom and not have to go back into the bedroom except to leave after I am completely ready. I'm really looking forward to this feature of our new house!!...See MoreIf you could have a custom shoe closet in your dressing room...
Comments (8)Well, I vote doors if you have the room. I think the clear or frosted glass would primarily depend on your decor. I would NOT recommend doing what I have--the carpenter did not build the cubbies the sizes I wanted and I am not happy with my shoe storage. They collect just as much dust as the regular shelves with the rim at the back for the heels that I've had in other homes; additionally, shoes are sized so differently that they don't fit neatly and it drives me nuts. If I had the room I would tear it out and go with doors to keep dust out, but I have suspicions that the doors might get in my way due to the fact that I'm always in such a hurry, pulling shoes, trying them on, grabbing another pair or two before deciding! A larger area would be preferable with the regular slanted shelves, no dividers, and glass doors or chickenwire and fabric, or whatever your decor dictates to protect them from dust. Be sure to post photos!...See MoreDressing room color

Comments (19)No clothes and shoes on display. Everything is stored in the closets and dressers in our home. Although I'm thinking of scouting for a vintage valet stand... Maddielee: my sewing/home office room is right next to the family room which is my DH's home office. Both of the rooms are on another floor, far away from the bedrooms. That means I can tap away on my laptop or sew when everyone is already in bed. I'm an owl, and my DH is a lark. On the other hand, the potential boudoir is near both the kitchen and master bedroom. The reason my DH sits in the living room is the proximity to the kitchen: drinks & snacks. He also does newspaper crossword puzzles on the dining room table. Recently my SIL came over and brought some costume jewelry to swap with me. We sat down in the living room and spread the jewelry on the coffee table. I made tea and brought out a box of cookies. My DH has no interest in jewelry, and he doesn't drink tea either. He traipsed back and forth - watched a TV show, fetched a glass of OJ for himself, then returned to the kitchen to feed the cat, then back to the living room again, turned the TV on again for some news, etc. I could see that SIL was slightly annoyed by that TV show. The boudoir would certainly be just for close friends and family. No formal parties there! No TV either! :-)...See MoreRelated Professionals
