24 inch speed oven options. Smeg, Berta, and Miele?
Comments (19)I have a GE 240v Advantium; it has a real 1500w heating element in the back that with a convection fan provides heat for baking. Although that's different than the upper and lower heating elements in a "real" oven, I haven't found it makes much different in routine cooking. The 240v Advantium wall ovens have a wire shelf rather than the round booster tray used on the 120v models. I find it works fine as a real oven, albeit a smaller one. Of course it's only available in 30" width (the 120v/15a model is available in 27"w as well). I haven't used a Miele speed oven so can't compare the two....See Morebosch convection oven and steam oven vs. miele or wolf?
Comments (22)We're building a new house and the placement of the appliances is pretty much fixed at this point. We didn't have any idea of how tricky this would be. Speed oven, Steam oven plus 30" convection oven and induction cooktop. Where to put them all? And how to decide which manufacturer so that they all match, without breaking the bank? We're thinking that the 30" Convection oven will be the one we use least. The Miele Steam seems better than the Bosch, but that means we have to make everything Miele to match. Miele 30 " convection is a lot more expensive than the Bosch. And how many of you have a Speed oven and what do you use it for? Currently, we use a Microwave to heat a bowl of soup, or warm up coffee, or reheat leftovers. We roast a lot of chicken and use a Convection oven..same with fish. We're a retired couple so it's mostly the 2 of us, and wonder how often we'll have a crowd and use everything at once. Plus, we're moving to FL and will have a good grill with a rotisserie, so will have that option too. Also wondering about a plain Microwave +Combi Steam+ Convection set up. But we're thinking that for resale value, we should have a Speed Oven. Can any of you tell me which appliances you use the most and do you have any experience with Bosch cooking appliances? And has anyone out there ever installed a wall oven under a cooktop, rather than buying a slide in or built in stove?...See MoreMiele CSO to stack with 24" Miele speed oven or 30" single oven?
Comments (70)You can never have enough ovens. We have a 30" oven in addition to a 24" CSO and a 24" SpeedOven (incidentally, this is a wonderful combination). And still, there has been at least one meal, when I had to add a fourth improvised oven by using the gas grill on the deck. I also had to use a portable warming chest, and had to prepare a careful schedule for when to use which appliance. But then, I was cooking multiple courses for a gathering of more than 100 guests. Realistically though, 99% of the time, the combination of those two ovens should be enough. You might just have to do a little bit of planning on the rare occasions that you make huge amounts of food. But if budget is flexible, adding the SpeedOven wouldn't hurt. It's a good oven in its own right, and it can always serve as a great overflow option, when things get really tight. Is it mandatory? No, not at all? Will you enjoy having bought it? Yes, probably. It's a convenient luxury, if you regularly cook a lot....See MoreMiele 24 inch vs 30 inch CSO capacity difference?
Comments (4)I have a 24" CSO XXL which was installed late 2021. I had not seen the 30" ones, so I just looked at their specs. Couldn't find a photo of the 30" interior anywhere. I wonder if they just increased the housing box, but the interior oven cavity is the same as the 24" models. It looks like it from the exterior diagrams, but can't know without seeing the interior of one. Makes it cleaner to install above the regular 30" ovens and eliminates the whole trim kit, which never looked great and always seemed to be out of stock. The price difference between the same model in 24 vs 30 isn't that big, which is what makes me think that the interior is the same for both. You need to call Miele for that information, because the website doesn't give enough details....See More- 5 years agolast modified: 5 years ago
