Remove old bi-fold doors

a b

The apartment I moved into has 50-year-old, 8-foot-high, bi-fold closet doors which seem to work well. I'd like to remove the doors to make it easier to paint the doors and the closets. These doors don't seem to have spring-loaded pins. One of the doors has a pin at top in a bracket in the track, and a second threaded pin in a bracket screwed into a floor plate. The other door has a pin that slides in the track, with no pin at the bottom.

What's the best way to remove these? The only screws that turn easily are the ones for the bracket on the floor. If I remove those, maybe I could slide the bracket off the plate and maybe the doors would come off the track?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
